Why we chose not to go to 4e D&D
December 2009
_"The cleric is no longer the natural healer and diplomat. The ranger is no longer the tracker and survivalist. The arcanists are no longer the cunning strategists but are now blasters...the rogue is no longer a damage dealer and city scape genius. …

Why we chose not to go to 4e D&D
December 2009
u_u I don't know why I'm contributing to this mess, other than to _try_ to defend 4e. I've played D&D since 2e, so I don't go all the way back like the true grognards, but I have some perspective on D&D's "lineage." I've only dabbled in…

RSS Error
July 2009
Under my profile page, the link for the RSS feed for My Favorites is currently directed towards the RSS feed for My Friends. Both point to this location - http://www.obsidianportal.com/user-feeds/DrummingDM/friends/rss.xml Simply changing the "f…

Multiple GMs for one campaign?
June 2009
Just putting my little bit of personal "oomph" behind supporting this. I've got a situation where my wife and I will be in a DM/Assistant DM situation, and I'd LOVE to be able to give her access to my GM-Only content without asking her to log in us…

Organize NPC Tracker
May 2009
Why not just tag them "Dead", or the like? You can attach as many tags as you want, and that makes it really easy to sort them by the related tags.

Any way to add spaces (spacing)
March 2009
It's not just this site that eats the spaces. It's a quirk of HTML. More than one space gets ignored. The easiest, most surefire way to force a space, is to use the non-breaking space ascii code. Inserting this into your text will force 1 space …

Cool Tip!
March 2009
bq. Does anyone know how to do variables in HTML? Like at the top of the page have a CharName variable and then anyone who copies the template just has to change a bunch of variables at the top of the page. I’m pretty sure it can be done but I don’t…

Deleting a Campaign
March 2009
To delete a campaign, you just need to enter the campaign home page, and click the link that reads "Edit Settings' under Manage Campaign in the sidebar on the right. At the very bottom of the Edit Settings page is a checkbox to delete the campaign.

Penny Arcade Rollcall!
March 2009
bq. I love PA. I was using this site a full year before Gabe posted his discovery. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy that I was ‘on to’ something before those two. But yeah, PA rules. This.

Rowspan and Colspan attributes on tables
March 2009
Would it be at all possible to add the rowspan and colspan to allowed attributes on the table and tags? Because I very much prefer coding my display in tables than Textile, and disallowing those two attributes makes things...uncomfortable. I'd l…

Adding New Wiki Page with Chrome
December 2008
When using Google Chrome v1.0.154.36, there's a little bug where the "add new wiki" page will load and assume you want to type in bold, adding an asterisk (*) into the Public field. From then on, no matter what key you hit, or how many times you un…

Page Within a Page
December 2008
"":http://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/tag_iframe.asp The only problem I see with this method is that any content you'd want in that stat block or nav bar will contain all the header, footer, and sidebars for OP, unless you host that page offsite.

Hello from Conn
December 2008
Yup. Gotta second FemmeLegion on that. Use pre-generated stuff for your content. You handle the rules, and let someone else provide the content until you feel confident writing a story from scratch. I'm a world-building/story-oriented DM first…

Custom Campaign Banners
September 2008
I have very modest graphics editing/design capabilities (I'm more of a coder than a "designer"), as evidenced by "my header image":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/pelosia but I'm willing to provide what help I can if people need it. Also, …

2 laptops, a beer, and how OP saved my monthly game session.
September 2008
Unfortunately, it did not. (And it was a work computer, too boot, or else I'd have likely tried to save it myself.) I gave it to the IT guy on Monday, and he took the harddrive out, and plopped it into another laptop laying around with the exact…

2 laptops, a beer, and how OP saved my monthly game session.
September 2008
Hiya. I'm fairly new to OP, and have only recently started getting my campaign wikified (http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/pelosia). I've been spending many an evening copying over archival content from an old website I managed for my playe…

Sidebar/Menu

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Guess that means I want to make sure I've got my sidebar set up exactly the way I want it before I start creating any more wiki pages. Thanks for help.

Sidebar/Menu
August 2008
I tried searching, but couldn't find anything that really helped. I've got a sidebar that I've built. As things stand now, I have to copy and paste it into every wiki page I want to generate. Is there an easy way to "slug" a page so that it's c…

Elizabethtown, PA checking in...

American Gods is more of a theological/divine struggle. The gods (and monsters/fairy creatures/etc.) of the old cultures of Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America live wherever their believers live - as long as those who worship them still live, t…

August 2008
Hi folks. Name's Josh. I've been playing D&D on and off for about 15 years now. Started in my early high school days with my friends as a player, and moved onto DMing a second group of friends "because I already knew the rules." Yeah, or s…
