Switching DSTs & dynamic_sheet_attrs
July 4
Steps to Reproduce In a campaign (in this case, it was in the World of Darkness setting, but others may work), create a new character. Pick a sheet that has fields in common with another (such as "Classic World of Darkness (Revised)", which has fiel…

Naming conventions for hierarchical field data.
June 30
edited June 30
The function of the field naming convention is to make it easier for multiple authors working on sheets for the same system to create sheets which are compatible with one another. To me, this is exactly why a convention for dynamic fields would be…

Styling of CloudFlare Ray block message
June 5
edited June 5
The sample code has a zero-width space between the "concat" and the "()". As it turns out, just those two together (without any other characters between them) in a post body when previewing or posting should be enough to trigger the block (I can't t…

Here's a new ray ID for concat: 71664234498b8f50 I'm no longer getting a block for href

Styling of CloudFlare Ray block message
June 2
Issue 2, content spilling out , is minor, as it makes it hard to read parts of the message, but doesn't prevent anything. The main cause is that, in "/applications/dashboard/design/style.css", .InformMessages .InformMessage is given a max-width, but…

`concat()` in JS blocked by Cloudflare.

Here's an odd one: constructor․prototype (note: full stop "\u2E" has been replaced with one dot leader "\u2024") triggers a block (ray ID 714dc57f6de002d8). Adding whitespace still triggers the block. Bracket syntax (e.g. target['constructor'].proto…

`concat()` in JS blocked by Cloudflare.

Here's another sequence that triggers a block (same ID as before). If a submission has something that looks like a base tag, followed by an href, it gets blocked. As with concat, this happens for DST JS and forum posts. Here's a code sample that wou…

Naming conventions for hierarchical field data.

Another approach (used in Chainsaw XIV's sheet libraries) is to avoid hierarchical fields entirely. Instead, related hierarchical fields are stored using JSON in a single field. This gives more control to the DST author, but at the same time require…

Could Schizophrenia allow A Pc to unknowingly also be the campaigns true and final villain?
May 19
It depends on your players, and whether they would be satisfied with that. The more the players know, the greater a suspension of disbelief will be required of them, which only works if the rest of the narrative is satisfying. If it isn't, it can fe…

Naming conventions for hierarchical field data.

Besides distinguishing path components and parts of words, it's useful to distinguish dynamic fields from static (such as when creating the elements to hold the dynamic fields). One option is to prefix dynamic field names with "dyn_" to make this ea…

Naming conventions for hierarchical field data.

Returning to the topic, a simple solution is to avoid compound names in hierarchical fields, reserving underscores for separating path components. This wouldn't be a very complete solution, as it would require some way of distinguishing hierarchical…

The old Jekyll & Hyde? Pardon the intrusion, but I think you mean Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), a dissociative disorder, rather than Schizophrenia, a psychotic disorder. Other disorder types includes: personality disorders, anxiety disor…

Making user-defined fields/dynamically created fields editable
May 14
Thank you for the suggestion. That looks to use ChainsawXIV's library, which has its own editor. I may go that direction at some point, but for now bindField meets my requirement.

Making user-defined fields/dynamically created fields editable

I think I found it after digging around in Jp12x's "nWoD RELOADED!" sheet. The globally accessible aisleten.characters has two methods, bindField(fieldName, containerId, slug) and bindAllFields(slug, containerId) that set up editable fields.
