    Greetings,

    CONTINUATION...

The Kijo turns in the direction of it's targets and a wall of fire erupts from the boomer that decimates anything in its swath.
A pair of Gaian heavy support team members barely cling to their remaining cover for dear life in the wake of the Kijo's onslaught.
Knowledge adjusts his link and blows into it as a test, startling the two gunners in the process.

North: "Any moment, a window is open up for you to lace this thing in the face...r'you two ready?"

Mee-Chan watched as the primary prepared his anti-mecha "Splatgun" Launcher while the gunner flailed about terrified:

"And just HOW will we know that!?!"

He screamed over the sound of heavy chaingun fire.
    Knowledge whistled to Alicia.
Alicia dashed from cover and fired a few slugs into the Kijo's head as she ran. All she did was attract it's attention and bring an unrelenting wall of fire down upon her position moments after she engaged in the heroic gesture.
North spun from cover and (selecting an incendiary round in the chambre) fired not at the monstrous Kijo but the highly pressurized corrosive liquid in barrels by it's feet. One shot was all it took.
The inital blast didn't phase the Kijo much but as it reoriented itself the mecha began to wobble, making a desperate attempt to discover who had attacked it.
Slowly but surely, the nano-corrosives ate through the boomers nano-composite leg plating and within seconds, unit to staggered like a drunk...
    North: "NOW!"

The "Splatgun" team emerged and the gunner put eight .10 gauge explosive shells into the Kijo's waist at almost point-blank range in one second, literally tearing the boomers weakened torso in two.

Gunnery Sergeant Gauge: "THAT'S how you do it!"

Tamerlain: "How did you know pressurized liquid nano-bots would eat through the boomer's armor?"
    North: "I didn't?"
Piedmont: "You just shot a barrel and hoped for the best?"
    North: "Yeah."
    Tamerlain: "Good f@#king shot."
Elektra: "That Kijo is still 50% combat effective..."
North: "Hit it with explosives and lets move on before we attract too much attention."
Piedmont: "You guys don't seem like any researchers I've ever met before? You ever been in country before?"
    North: "No."
Piedmont: "It's just you definitely know tour stuff when it comes to trashing boomers...I like to think the profession is small enough to merit credit where credit is due...and taking out a Kijo, that's something I've only ever HEARD of!"
    North: "Your point?"
Piedmont: "Just who the f@#k are you guys? The numerical chances of anyone surviving a head-to-head encounter with a Kijo wearing a K-12 armored trooper suit, is still 4 to 1 against...and you took him out with a single-action pistol shot?"
    North: "It's a good f@#king pistol."
Tamerlain: "You're a good f@#king shot...just keep it hidden, okay?"
Piedmont: "A Chinese military model...on Gaian land?"

Mouse: "I'm not so sure this birdy IS chinese anymore."

As the explosives are being set to the Kijo, Mouse takes note of the growth on the boomers appendages.
The defunct Kijo unit is covered in more organic growth on a large percentage of it's components.

Mouse: "This can't be a coinsedence."
    Tamerlain: "What are you saying?"
Alicia: "She's saying if we keep looking...we'll find the source of the Voomer Madness."
    North: "We should be moving."
    Tamerlain: "Agreed..."

Even more of a mystery...the single survivor rescued from the ships central core.
A beautiful young woman, unconcious since her rescue...somehow tied to the operation of the alien ship.
Someone would have some explaining to do.

    Greetings,

    CONTINUATION...

The heat still radiated from the walls of the ship after the recent "shutdown".
It was only temporary but still a welcome respite from the sub-freezing cold outside.
Then came the sound of real terror.

18 tons of ceraplast plating over durasteel exoskeleton.
    A heavy-duty frontline morale destroyer.
It appeared as a quadruped Battlemover, bristling with weapons mounted all over its chassis.
Without its "dragon-like" tail, it stands 7 yards long and almost 3 yards high at the shoulder. On all fours, it can top 96kph.
There would be no outrunning it.
Not even a close-range splatgun shot would likely do much and that was Gaia's "sunday punch". The IML's are unguided and don't stand much of a chance of connecting, except by blind luck.
Even if everyone on the team had Hard Suits, it would STILL be a coin toss as to who would win.
Without the Motoroids, there'd be no chance of defeating DD.

It lumbered towards the sound of the threat.
Alicia and Elektra scattered laser tripmines in their wake as they urged haste from the rest of the Gaia specialists.
They instead found temporary respite as the series of explosive detonated in the battlemover's presence.
Shortly after, the group had a "good news/bad news" moment occur.

The good news was that they had discovered what had happened to the rest of the on-site personal.
The bad news was that they had all been rounded up and shot.
But mad boomers didn't use conventional slugthrowers...so someone ELSE had betrayed them.
A "someone" who could still be at large and who may have even been responsible for starting up the alien craft in the first place.

Upon reaching the bridge...the perspective began to change.
One of the "alien lifeforms" lay dead at the helm.
They were huge by human comparison...standing 6-7 yards tall, weighing almost 8 tons...ressembling not human...but Boomer.
Some type of advanced artificial lifeform.

Mouse was already in shock...the similarity in the heuristic of this alien traveller were so similar to that of the boomer that there could be no doubt in her mind.
What ever technology begat the Boomer must have been reversed engineered from an alien exactly like this one.
    Boomer's are not of Earth.
The most distrubing trait of the alien pilot could not be dulled or hidden by time. The telltale organic mottling he bore was a testament that this indeed was the source of the new Voomer Madness...this was patient zero.

North could only hope Mouse's signal reached Sally.
The chances were not good but if anyone could reach her on the continent...it would be Mouse.

To avoid the DD series battlemover on the prowl, the team maintained strict light & heat discipline.
They also called for a sweep by the remaining gunship but no word had been recieved as of yet on it's status.
    Tension was running high.

    Greetings,

    CONTINUATION...

Elektra: "You think she heard us? I know she heard us. I'm not supposed to die on some ice cube!"
North: As far as last words go...those aren't bad."
    Alicia: "Stop scaring the girl!"
Tamerlain: "You think you got through?"
Mouse: "With the storm approaching...I dunno...maybe."
Alicia: "There's still a few days left...no need to give up hope. Sally might be here in as few as four hours."
Piedmont: "Or as many as NEVER! No pilot is crazy enough to fly in this at night."
Tamerlain: "We should concentrate on more pressing problems...that battlemover out there...even if we could get to the Sno-Cats, we'd be torn to pieces."
North: "Yeah...one problem at a time there slick...we still have to worry about contamination here."
    Piedmont: "What's he talking about?"
Mouse: "Any transport with a link to the shacks navagational data might become corrupted by the alien virus...the entire navigational network might already be compromised."
Tamerlain: "But we can't get home without it?"
North: "Starting to look like the boy's who stayed at camp six were the smart ones afterall."
Alicia: "Is there some kind of diagnostic we can run to ensure a system is virus free?"
Mouse: "I'm working on something right now...but it's going to take me some time."
Piedmont: "You've got till she can run a diagnostic on the transport back at camp...then we are airborn and outta here."
North: "It's not that simple...we can't risk this thing breaking quarentine."
Mouse: "Something about this is all wrong."
    Alicia: "What do you mean?"
Mouse: "The vector of contagion for this strain of Voomer Madness is all wrong."
Elektra: "Pretend I'm not a turbo nerd."
Mouse: "This isn't really my area of expertise...it's Helen's."
    Tamerlain: "Advanced computer sciences?"
    Mouse: "Applied Biology...
    North: "Vas?"
Mouse: "...I don't think this one spreads by network pathology at all."
    Piedmont: "What are you saying?"
North: "She means she thinks it's spread by people."

A wave of shock goes through the team.

Mouse: "We could all have been exposed...we could all be carriers."
Piedmont: "WE ARE NOT MAKING THE BOOMERS SICK!!!"
Mouse: "The numbers indicate something different."
Piedmont: "F@#K YOUR NUMBERS...I've never heard such bullsh1t before in my whole life!"
Alicia: "Boss...just a thought...all those sick people when we landed on the Shelf?"
North: "Could have been in operation for monthes without them knowing they were spreading alien nano-bots."
Elektra: "The entire SHELF could turn!?!"
Alicia: "How long does this thing remain dormant for?"
Mouse: "From what I've seen it doesn't remain dormant at all...it always attacks...it'll show up right away."
    Alicia: "Similar to spontaneous decay?"
Elektra: "Spontaneous decay in boomer heuristics is a myth!"
    Mouse: "Maybe not."
North: "So, we are exposed to it...we pass it onto the boomers...the boomers go mad and kill us?"
Mouse: "I can't say for sure but..."
Piedmont: "Are YOU an A.I. specialist?"
Mouse: "The best you'll find, buddy!"
Piedmont: "This is NONSENCE...Tamerlain, you don't believe any of this do you?"

The Gaian NCO is speechless as the men look to him for HIS decision.

    Greetings,

    CONTINUATION...

Tamerlain: "Doesn't matter what I believe. We were sent here to find out what happened. Well, we did just that. Nobody survived this clusterf@#k..."
Mouse: "This place HAS to be isolated...bubble it or bomb it...take your pick."
Piedmont: "I am forced to agree sir."

The "Splatgun" crew give each other a high-five.

Tamerlain: "This is too much for one squad to accomplish."
North: "Bottomline is there's a battlemover out there...and the moment we make a play for the vehicles...it'll pounce."
Gaia Squad Leader: "We can't wait it out?"
Mouse: "Your right...a DD-series has enough power to wait for us to starve to death and still be on half reserves. It won't surrender...it won't give up...it can't be stopped...but we might be able to fool it for a moment!"
North: "Tell me you people brought poppers."

Every specialist tosses a pair of EMP grenades on the table.

North: "I'm going to scout a round for a place to put these...stay outta trouble."
    Alicia: "No promises...off ya go."

Elektra looked to the "Splatgun" crew.

Elektra: "How many shots you got left?"
Gaian Loader: "Three more alpha strikes...a pair of IML's but no reloads...couple of grenades each...some CCB rocket munitions for a few of the rifles."
Alicia: "The IML's will be the only things that can effect it so don't waste your ammo."
Mouse: "You can't fight this thing...the DD-series has a fully automated control system...it doesn't need a pilot...it's top tier in it's class. It can even slug it out with a Doberman MK III...we have nothing that can touch it."
    Tamerlain: "What are you saying?"
Mouse: "If it finds us...we're all dead."
North: "At best we can discourage it for a while...but eventually, it'll win."
    Tamerlain: "So, what's the plan?"
North: "I keep rolling it around in my head but eventually...somebody is gonna have to distract it...give our artillary a chance to move into position."
Mouse: "Anyone who tries to creep on the DD will be torn apart in seconds."
Tamerlan: "What do you think it's doing?"
Alicia: "What else? It's hunting us. It's waiting for us to make a mistake...for one to get separated from the herd. It's waiting for weakness to show itself because THAT'S what it does. It's a killing machine...and make no mistake...it IS hunting us."
Mouse: "I am beginning to think Elektra was right about this mission from the start."
North: "Too late...we already spent the money."
    Tamerlain: "Who uses the DD-series?"
Mouse: "A defunct subsidiary of Liandri called Genom...went out of business when the RNC anti-trust broke up. DD was one of their black projects...never supposed to see the light of day. Word is the project was taken over by Poseidon when Genom went public...picked up their Skunkworks for pennies on the dollar."
    North: "Poseidon?"
Tamerlain: "Great...that means we are either facing BU-12F Fire Starters or BU-60 Swarm Masters."
Gaian Gunnery Sergeant: "If ya ask me...I'd rather cook than freeze."
    Piedmont: "Nobody ASKED ya!"
Gaian Recon: "If it's a BU-60 you won't even know...you'll feel weird for a moment as the nano-bots tear through you...everything will look hazy...then your skin will start to bleed and nothing will stop it...then you die."
Mouse: "We stand a statistically better chance of running into a corrupted Gaia model BU-55D."
Tamerlain: "Is she always this happy?"
    North: "It's f@#king annoying ISN'T it?"

Mouse kisses North on the cheek then wipes it off.

    Greetings,

    CONTINUATION...

Alicia: "We are gambling our lives on a pair of 64mm missiles that we're pretty sure won't work?"
North: "I'm still workin' on that part of the plan but yeah."
Gaia Spec #3: "Word from Camp Six is the gunship never returned from it's recon of Camps Four and Seven."
    Gaia Squad Leader: "The virus?"
Mouse: "Or the DD...take your pick."
North: "If it was the DD, we'd have seen some smoke from the gunship by now."
Tamerlain: "They might have been forced to turn back."
    Mouse: "They're dead."
North: "What range could it keep us at and still track us effectively?"
Mouse: "5-10 miles with thermal imaging."
Elektra: "I have some HV shells that might crack the 3 mile mark but that's it."
    Tamerlain: "AMR?"
Elektra: "20mic-mic...it'll only p1ss it off."
North: "You'll get his attention when the time comes."
    Elektra: "That's the trick?"
North: "No...that'll be getting you girls to the Skycarrier without any G.I's taking notice."
Alicia: "I'll be shocked if O'Shea can find the address."
North: "Don't you fret...Sal's on her way, I can feel it."

The Skycarrier lifted off in the nick of time.
Having remained in the quarentined area for the sake of foster anonimity for the team, Sally and the transport remained isolated from the infected Shelf.
She had recieved Mouse's signal and had lifted off just as the boomer revolt kicked into high gear.
Rising over the compound the area was lit with explosions as the loading boomers began to tear apart the docks as they all moved towards the central computer core.
Security models began to hunt personal room to room as combat models simply eliminated anything which moved.
The Skycarrier had just cleared the compound when the computer core went critical.
The facility melted it's way clear through the ice and sank beneath the Shelf, taking massive sections of facility with it, disappearing beneath the waves with billowing clouds of steam..
Loss of the main support caused the platform to lose structral stability and the Shelf began shift dangerously.
Then, all at once, the entire artifical cross-section of the mega-structure gave way and disappeared beneath the waves...leaving only the barest edges of the facility untouched in the wake of the boomer rampage.
    The Shelf was gone.

Sally wasn't certain exactly what had taken place behind her but was sure she had just "beaten the clock", whatever it was.
She estimated she could reach the signal's source in a little under four hours if all went as predicted.
Problem there was no Shelf left to return to after she picked them up.
No Shelf to refuel at for the trans-oceanic hop would be suicide for the Skycarrier.
They would be trapped in the Winter War.

North's expedition managed to return to the exterior of the alien craft well after sundown.
As an added annoyance, every powered item which came to be inside the ship mysteriously lost it's charge the moment it exited the ship again.
    Mouse's laptop included among them.

The thing that struck Tamerlain was how quiet the cave entrance was...not even a sentry.
At mention of this...the entire team went weapons hot.

Piedmont: "There's supposed to be four people out here...where are they?"

They fan out to find only a temporary camp set up by Squad Leader Dulles near the Sno-Cats but no trace of his group.
Evidence suggests a fierce firefight took place but no trace of any bodies can be found.

North discovers a thermal charge blast which has "shadowed" the quarduped mecha against a wall of ice.

    Phil: "F@#k!"
Greg: "This thing is gonna K-I-L-L us."
Mike: "We're just missing some vital detail..."

Mouse: "We can't just run...even if we split up with the Sno-Cats, it could hunt the first one down and still have enough speed to run the second Sno-Cat to ground in short order."
Piedmont: "There's still the Pass of Tears...it's large enough that the Sno-Cats can pass but dainty enough that this DD won't make it."
North: "A trap's not gonna work without bait."
Alicia: "What are you going on about?"
North: "Someone has to keep the DD's attention focused on them while the Sno-Cats run to the "Pass"...they won't make it otherwise."

    Greetings,

    CONTINUATION...

    No one speaks up.

North: "I could use some help."

The Gaian "Splatgun" Gunnery Sergeant volunteers as does the sole Recon element.

North: "That's enough...this is a diversion, not the Alamo fellas."

Taking the balance of the groups heavy firepower, North would lead a group to distract the DD while the others would break for the Sno-Cats and make a run for the pass.
Hopefully, North would be able to buy the others the precious seconds they needed to escape the DD.

Mouse was a little broken up about his decision and cursed him for being: "Stupid & Pig-Headed"
Elektra couldn't believe what she was hearing.
North only made Alicia promise she would get Seven and the others out of here as fast as she could.

Alicia: "You idiot...not even I can keep hating on ya when you go and do stupid sh1t like this..."

North nodded his head, half-smiling at her remark.

Alicia: "What will I tell Calaveri?"
North: "I think by the time that happens...you'll already have a good idea of what to say."

He turned to his pair of "Scrubs" as they did their best to even the distribution of explosives amongst them.
The Private began to chuckle to the Gunnery Sergeant.

    Gunnery Sergeant: "What's so funny?"
Private: "I've never been a hero before."
North: "Here's a little tip: In a little while, things are REALLY gonna start to suck and that'll mean there's no going back...rules aren't gonna apply and discipline is gonna fly right out the window. It's gonna be chaos and I promise you'll never be more scared than at anytime in your whole life. Once the sh1t hits the fan, and it WILL, just remember this...breathe."
    Private: "Breathe?"
    North: "Breathe."
Private: "Have you EVER seen anything like this before?"
North: "Son, this is just what I do when I wake up in the morning..."
Gunnery Sergeant: "There'll be a song or two written about us tonight boy!"
North: "You along the catwalk...you near the crane...I'll sweep up the middle and attract its attention."
Private: "How will you do that?"
North: "You kidding me? I'm making this sh1t up as I go along."

GM: "Raiders of the Lost Ark Point."
    Phil: "YESSSS!!"

Knowledge takes a pair of bottles from the recycling bin and puts them on his fingers before slowly tapping them together. It takes him a while because everything in the bin seems to be plastic:

    "WARRIORS...COME OUT AND PLAY-AY!!!"

    GM: "Point!"
    Phil: "I'M ON FIRE!!!"
    Mike: "Man on Fire?"
    Greg: "More like Deadman Walking."

The "suicidal" North walks out to examine a tanker truck in the parking area as he continues his serenade:

    "WARRIORS...COME OUT AND PLAYYYYY!!!"

North spun in place at the centre of the cave's mouth.
In the time it takes him to do one 360 degree spin, the DD stands waiting for him as he completes his first circle.
It had made hardly a sound and it's sudden appearance unnerves the Jumper.

Phil: "How the f@#k can 28 tons of steel and hyperdense alloys sneak up on ANYTHING?"
GM: "Next time don't critically fail your perception check."

Its voice rumbled throughout the clearing.
A low growl with enough bass to cause objects to vibrate at a distance.
    More bestial than boomer.
It was waiting to see what North would do next.

    North: "Help."

    Greetings,

    CONTINUATION...

The Jumper took a step to the right but the quadruped DD matched his step from a distance.
He took a step back and his "shadow" promptly followed suit.
Seeing little alternative he slowly began to unsling his Infantry Missile Launcher.
North hadn't even taken the weapon from his shoulder when the DD retracted it's shoulder-mounted 20mm chaingun and took aim at him as the multiple barrels of the cannon began to spin to life.

North: "Uh, guys...change of plans...you might have to carry out the rest of this OP without me."
Gunnery Sergeant: "Any moment now, a window is gonna open up for you to slap that fugly mother right in the pus...don't you dare miss."

The Gunny emerged from his ambush position at the top of the catwalk and took aim with his "Splatgun". The cumbersome and ungainly weapon was far too ackward to ready quickly as he had hoped.
DD senced the movement and began to rotate it's torso to bring the new threat into view.
North quickly flailed his arms with IML in hand in a desperate bid to distract the death machine.
His attempt works and in mid-sweep, the DD's shoulder gunpod lights up as it traverses towards Mee-Chan, buying the Gunny the precious seconds he needs to achieve a lock.
The 20mm gunpod sweeps over North's head as he drops to one knee and shoulders the rocket launcher, miraculously missing the Jumper is a flurry of cannon fire.
Gunny hits his mark and unleashes another alpha strike into the DD's shoulders, neck and head.
Despite the signifigant firepower of the .10 gauge SAPHE shells, the attack does little more than make the DD unsteady as a fire platform.
With 20mic-mic still roaring away, the cannon is walked continuously over North's position but still, he remains steady as all he77 breaks loose around him and takes careful aim.

    Phil: "FIVE...like a f@#kin' rock, ladies!"
GM: "You don't even do so much as flinch."

Before the cannon can accurately traverse onto target, a burst of rocket exhaust from the rear indicates the Private has joined the fray.
The DD has just enough time to turn to use it's onboard CIWS system to take the rocket from the air before the warhead slams into the battlemovers chest. It suceeds in destroying the incoming rocket at the last possible second, but leaves itself vunerable to North.
Tracerfire has only JUST begun to track off of North' position when a solid tone emits from the cloud.
Another rocket fires off from the haze of dirt and dust which catches the DD from behind and knocks it to the ground, rolling over and crushing a small forklift in the process.
The DD's left rear leg is damaged in the attack and as the battlemover right's itself, it begins to limp in favor of the damaged limb.
It roars defiantly and tries to lock onto nearby heat sources but before it can find anyone, North uses "Grace" (his Matsucorp M-42a Pulse Rifle) and unleashes a salvo of mini-grenades into the battlemovers torso and head, while it's still disoriented.

North charges directly at the fallen battlemover as it tries to get to it's feet.
The DD retracts a pair of XM-214 5.56mm miniguns from it's right arm and the cannons flash to life.
Avoiding the burst, Knowledge moves from floor to workbench to cargo crate and finally leaping to nothing but air as the DD tries to track it's cannons onto target for effect.
The Gunny fires a trio of PK-74 CCB rocket munitions into the beasts exposed back from the catwalk.
Staggering, the battlemover tracks behind itself with miniguns blazing and sweeps the catwalk as it rotates.
The Gunnery Sergeant is able to roll from the catwalk to the deck below, avoiding being torn to pieces but substituting a gunshot for a nasty fall in the process.
The landing is so rough, he loses his battle rifle on impact.

    Greetings,

    CONTINUATION...

Knowledge finishes reloading the mini-grenade launcher and pumps one into the chambre.

    North: "UGLY MOTHERF@#KER!!!"

He spins from cover and yells to attract the DD's attention off of the Gunny.
As it turns...recognizing the voice pattern...the DD is rocked by another salvo of explosive blasts.
The DD charges at Knowledge knowing it can overrun his position with ease.
Tearing through the crates he used for cover, the DD critically misses it's target in the bull rush.
North remained like a "matador"...enticing the DD to charge with short bursts from his M-42a once the grenade launcher had run dry.
Lunging for him, North felt his back rest upon a heavy steel support.
The DD came at him head first and not seeing the pillar (due to crates) collided head first with it doing 75kph.

(Don't bother to do the math on this...it equals out to "OWWIE"!)

Finally seeing his chance, the Jumper begins to run up the series of falling crates that hid the main support pillar. As Knowledge moves over the "stunned" foe, he slaps a pair of S-Mines on the battlemover before vaulting to safety below.
The DD turns to lock onto North, observing him only long enough to watch him tap his wrist piece.
    The mines detonate.
The explosions happen close enough to a few barrels of crude that the blast has a considerable flaming component as well.
Barely to cover on time, North extinghuishes his leg before scrambling to his feet ahead of the DD.
He tries to pull back with "Samantha" in hand, vaulting from crate to crate instead of running between them.
Knowledge jumps from the tops of the crates JUST as the DD sits up...missing North's retreat completely.

Gunnery Sergeant: "I hope your still listening out there...I got one more shot and I need another distraction."
    Private: "I'm with you sir."
    North: "Still here...I'm still here..."

The DD made a noise it had never made before.
It's frame began to reconfigure itself before their eyes as the battlemover's quadruped shape altered to its biped warrior version.
Now, standing over seven yards in height as an anthro, the DD was now an absolute combat nightmare.

North: "Guys, I'm positive I p1ssed it off."

It locks onto Knowledge and begins to retract more weapon systems.
Mee-Chan begins to run from his previous cover as grenades pepper his last known position with shards of shrapnel and bursts of incendiary chemicals.
Small and large miniguns light up but Knowledge is impossibly able to pick his way through the heart of the DD's volly only to emerge under cover on the other side.
The DD prepares to fire it's shoulder mounted impact cannon on the Jumper as he retreats.
Instead of targeting the battlemover, the Gunny uses only half the "Splatgun" to hit the same tanker truck North stood beside when it all went south.
The parking level is engulfed in a solid wall of flame and the shockwave of a VERY large explosion.

The DD-series battlemover rises to it's feet in the aftermath of the explosion...still limping from its previous injury.
It's sensors can no longer detect any targets but it detects it has suffered 22% battle damage to it's systems and must repair itself with a maintenance cycle before re-engaging.
Despite still appearing humanoid, the mecha makes defeated sounding "cat-like" noises at it retreats from the caves entrance, trailing smoke and flame as it backpedaled from the combat engagement.
There is a silence that overtakes the place for a few minutes.
There is nothing but the crackle of fire from the explosives and and sound of the wind.

    Tamerlain: "Somebody...please say something."
    Private: "Something."
North: "If I EVER suggest something like that in the future...somebody PLEASE talk me out of it."
    Tamerlain: "Is anyone hit?"
Private: "That depends...what do you mean by "hit"?"

Knowledge stumbles across the Recon specialist and finds he has a large sliver of concrete lodged in his leg like a spike.
The wound is behind him so the Private is unable to see the injury and can only detect he has one.

    TO BE CONTINUED...
