I'm thinking about adding music to my front page, but first I need to find a hosting site, preferably without charge. Any suggestions?

Edit: Also, SoundCloud is one such service, although I haven't used them for anything but listening, so I'm not sure how good it would work for this purpose.

A site called Grooveshark hosts thousands of searchable music and you can link from the site and it creates it's own player on the page. It does not play automatically, but that is what I wanted, a player you can can click yourself.
So just use
p(oembed). "Song Name":song on grooveshark you want to link to.
Thank you for your feedback too gaaran and hopefully this can help people. The only thing I gave not worked out how to place the player in the center of the page.
If you want to see what it looks like, here is my webpage: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/adelaide-jade-regent/wikis/ameiko-kaijitsu
Thanks again for this, will definitely be stealing!!
Here is code to center

Just drop the single quotes at the beginning and end.

Still it doesn't look bad left justified where it is for now so I am leaving it up till I figure out what went wrong ... and now gosh darnit I gotta start figuring out what tracks I am going to use for each page.
It's fun being the nub because all you awesome types have figured out so much it should make it somewhat easier to be in your league.
Same code as centering your video, just different link.

I was being a Donkyrydr...
Makes it pretty easy
Should I start a separate thread where we can talk about the "appropriate" or "best" use of music on an op site? Or just use this thread to not clutter the forums.
I changed the thread topic name to something more generic, if you want to keep the discussion going in this thread.

So I realize this will be taste and situation dependent but I was thinking about how to best incorporate music into my scheme. Then I realized that others may have useful input. I am of the opinion that many pages probably shouldn't receive any music - the only ones I would probably place them on is the adventure logs (which I have done) then as themes for PCs NPCs and Factions perhaps.
I intend to let my Players choose their PC themes with the caveat it must be something that fits with the rest of the site.
How do you guys plan to use music?
I am running an Adventure Path, a 6 part series and plan to have a piece of music for each chapter on my front page. As the 6 parts are in wildly differing areas, I want to be able to capture the essence of the region they are in for that chapter.
I also want a single piece of music for each of the major NPCs. The plan is, when the characters are interacting with that NPC in an important section, I have their theme running so that (hopefully) it will get to a point where I can play the music and they automatically associate it with that person and know something major is going to happen in relation to that person.
I admit, I currently have 1 or 2 joke pieces of music up on the NPCs until I could finally find something more appropriate and I am hoping the players will find something for themselves. If they want to use a modern song, I would ask that it is an instrumental version. For the NPC elf ranger, Shalelu, a withdrawn and lonely person, I have an instrumental version of Desperado by The Eagles. It is not fantasy but the instrumental keeps it from breaking the immersion too much.
In the mean time here is my humble suggestion as self designated idea man.
Pandora - if you're stuck thinking of what kind of music would work for a section of your site pick a song that you know would work thematically but you don't want to use perhaps. Punch it into pandora.com and you will get a ton of suggestions for similar music.
Here is my suggestion for Shalelu - http://grooveshark.com/#/s/Fade+Into+You/4ktZgf?src=5 pretty sad and lonley - altho 5 string seranade by mazzy star is also sad and lonley let me know if you'd prefer that. It's track 5 located at http://www.mazzystar.nu/web/so-tonight-that-i-might-see.html.
Also, what are you viewing it on? When I opened the pages via my iPad or Android device, it showed up only as a hyperlink.
Thanks for the music suggestion TheMazeController, I will give that a look when I get home.

At least that's what the self appointed wildcard / idea man says!
*Yes I am adding wildcard to my list of self appointed titles.
I dont know if you noticed or not wildhunt but I mislabled the Mazzy Star track when I uploaded it. Album info should be "So tonight that I might see" I wrote "So THAT tonight that I might see" and it's been bugging me ever since.
So this morning when I woke up I had an epiphany. I realized I knew the perfect saddest song of all time and rushed to upload it for you...
Since I rushed I made another damn error...
http://grooveshark.com/#/s/Adagio+Fo+Strings/4kvyxr?src=5
It say Adagio "fo strings" instead of "FOR strings". Take comfort in the fact that I wrestled with stupid grooveshark for like an hour trying ro reload or edit the damn thing. No joy gridley - so my suggestion is either (A) - Ignore it and use it and have fun. or (B) - Re-upload it yourself and have a good copy for your portal. I would go with B myself.
For help doing that email me at the.maze.controller @ gmail dot com
In the mean time tonight I am replaying some Homeworld. (See pic link - its my games that are quick launch worthy minus Steam titles- they get their own folder.) Great game - my future players can suffer from me not working on my site for a night. ungrateful Bastiges that they are. Besides I am waiting on a few friendly assists before I do too much more to the pages because I want to get my format laid out properly.

I randomly threw songs on there (honestly) and that's what you get. Hopefully someone smarter or savvier will work out a streamlined version otherwise maybe set the player to the side of the webpage and wrap text or art around it.
I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was using the url I had in place before which was formatted like this: http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/playlist/Gm+Town+village/51149032?src=5
But that didn't work, however this one does: http://grooveshark.com/#/playlist/GM+Town+Village/51149032
