I've mentioned it once or twice before, but we've passed a one-year anniversary and I don't think it's too much self-promotion to mention my campaign again.
I won't win Obsidian Portal awards for my campaign - it's mostly just a journal; I'm not doing anything fancy or making use of advanced features. Since it's a published and copyrighted gameworld (Monte Cook's Ptolus), I'm not terribly comfortable copying source material onto an online medium, so it's probably not the easiest to follow. That said, I'm having a blast running the campaign and Obsidian Portal is a great resource for keeping up the diary (written from the GM POV, and veers back and forth between in-universde narrative and gaming-table metacommentary; it's me telling the story of the campaign, that's how I tell it).
We've survived running the campaign through the pandemic so far: we're two families (two married couples, plus my son) so we're just two locations, and we are using Roll20 for tabletop. There's a bit of comment here and there about that part, too.
So: if you are a fan of Ptolus (which has a kickstarter I participated in funding that will come out soon, so I hear, for 5th ed), or if you're interested in seeing a campaign set in a high-powered medieval-fantasy city setting (albeit with a fair bit of dungeoncrawl beneath), or even if you just want to read a Pathfinder v1 campaign with a bit of a nontraditional structure and want to ask questions so that I write more info in my own words that improves the comprehensibility of the site, come take a look.
With the exciting news about the Mass Effect remaster coming out soon I decided to go back and revisit my Mass Effect Accelerated site and give it an art update too. Let me know what y'all think: https://masseffectaccelerated.obsidianportal.com/
Whew! All the art (over 200+ images including over 75 characters) has been fully updated with the new look. I have been in discussions with my group and it looks like we are going to start back with the campaign in the next few weeks. I am very excited!!! We got distracted by a few other games and I look forward to starting back in the ME universe.
Thanks Kallak. I am lucky that my players have also taking an at bat at GMing the game. Which means I have been fortunate enough to get to play it as well as GM it. I cannot wait to get it started again. The announcement of the Legendary Edition and updating all the art has really gotten the old creative juices flowing. My players won't know what hit 'em. :D
So, this is far, FAR from finished, but I'd like some opinions. I;m gonna be running a 5e campaign for my group, and have begun work on the site already. Ive learned ALOT I think since Shadows was first done (and repaired after the reforge) and then redone (thanks so much Wolfhound for THAT inspiration and project :) ).
Also, my group began in 91 with me running AD&D 2nd ed, and other than one other campaign a few years later, it has been quite some time since I ran a D&D game, so, I kinda want the site to REALLY look good. :)
Anyhow, I've rambled enough, here is the link. Let me know what you think. And any critiques or suggestions would be appreciated.
@Keryth I love the bikinis and battle axes style! :) Very interesting world, I like how it leads to an overarching Obsidian Portal page connecting vary campaigns. I have something similar in the works for when my guys start spelljamming: https://spelljammercharts.obsidianportal.com/
A followup to my January post, specifically for anyone interested in Monte Cook's Ptolus, whether the original release or the about-to-be-released new editions for 5e and Cypher.
I've felt for a long time that one of the most valuable community services that a campaign journal can provide is to allow those GMs running similar campaigns to share (or lift) ideas.
I'm indebted to several longrunning Ptolus campaign blogs I've found across the web, including some terrific ones here on obsidianportal, for inspiration as I compose plans and sketch out adventures for my players.
So - for any Ptolus GMs out there: I provided a wikipage for my campaign that I expect to keep updated relatively often, roughly collating my session logs by source material - in particular, for those who might want scenario ideas for their own Ptolus campaigns, or who are interested in what non-Ptolus source material is adaptable.
My original Cyberpunk Red campaign is being used by a new GM with me as a player. Since I am not GMing I felt I needed to take all the House Rules I had made for that game off that site and put them somewhere else. So I made a new Cyberpunk Red Nomads campaign. I tried to make it feel different from the other campaign without completely changing it. Same Genus, different Species if you will. I would love to get feedback on it.
Looks amazing, as always HumAnnoyd. You continue to impress and inspire.
As for your comments on my game, thanks alot. Hardest part was striking a balance between motion and stillness. I mean, even the banner is animated, though only the flaling stars, so its subtle, while the buttons are very animated
@Keryth987 thank you for the kind words. I have always loved CP's Nomads so it is fun making a site for a Nomad-centric campaign.
As for your campaign I would only have one worry. The site may not load correctly with all those animations for folks with slower connections. My initial Cyberpunk Red camapaign originally had a fully animated cityscape background with flaming embers and swirling smog. It looked great. But no matter how much I optimized the animation it took a high speed connection to run properly. I ended just settling for the animated title.
Y'all do some truly amazing stuff. Mine is a lot less flashy, but I've had to organize a metric ton of data. I'd love any feedback on the current state of my Campaign Hub for my games, The Planejammer Panopticon. It's the central repository for a series of interlocking campaigns that started back in late '79 / early '80, three of which are running concurrently right now.
Loki...just so much information there...I'm a tad jealous. It looks great. Well organized, simple, and as I said, chock full of great information
I've kinda got something similar, a repository/information site, for my group's shared campaign world. (If curious, the main hub is HERE). It is 4 OP sites, as there are three different GMs contributing to the three parts of the world (Its three worlds connected magically through various means sharing the same orbit spelljammer wise). And thats not counting the site for my updomming 5e game which is linked there (unfortunately, 1 of the GMs hasn't really put much up on his part, and the other has run several campaigns but placed them all on his part's site)
@keryth987 took a quick look, absolutely badass! Favorited for when I have some time in a few days. As to being jealous of the info, I'm the only DM but the players over the years have also done a lot of the mutliverse building (the art for instance is mostly done by our players, and their journals are a lot of fun). These are all spawned from a single AD&D game back in 1979-80ish, so their has been a lot of time for stuff to stack up.
Thanks for the feedback, after awhile looking at it I can't tell how good the organization is so hearing that as a good point makes me draw a huge sigh of relief!
@keryth987 BTW, forgot to mention, it's great to see another campaign series that's been around since the early days! Especially one with a Spelljammer / Planescape basis!
OK, round two. Done ALOT of work since I last asked you all to look this site over and let me know what you think. So, please, look it over and let me know whatcha think
@DungeonMasterLoki that certainly is a lot of information. It seems well organized although at times I wanted a "Back" button for ease of navigation.
@Keryth987 I do think those tables with the black and red color blocks are jarring with the rest of the design. Perhaps a neutral grey and white or blue and white would work better.
All in all though, both campaigns are amazing with all the information and story. Great stuff.
I'm pretty clueless when it comes to coding, I find I'm lucky to be able to update my wiki here but have been Ascendent for over a year and just restarted my in person game after a one year hiatus. I'd certainly welcome any input to improve how I'm using OP. https://theavatarcampaign.obsidianportal.com/
Hey guys. A friend of mine is wanting to run a Traveller Pirates of Drinax campaign and asked me to work on the OP website. Here is what I have so far:
@HumAnnoyd. Looks amazing, as usual. My only criticism, is the menu up at the top instead of the side, looks, wrong somehow. Maybe center it or something? It just looks out of place as is
Here is a campaign that I think many will find some enjoyment reading. It's a first edition D&D (AD&D) campaign that has been played over 52 game sessions over 2 1/2 years. I've just added it to Obsidian Portal. Let me know what you think.

Wow, Spycraft and XCOM would be a great combo, @Keryth987 - Pages look excellent, as always!
