  So like: You tag them with Session 27 and they show up like they would on the character page as if Session 27 was a group?

  If so, please provide an example of one AdventureLog and at least two characters that should appear with it.

  Hmm. Short of using JS I see no way to do this since iframes are disabled. I think this might be a cool feature though. Maybe someone here with JS experience can help?

  Well, I did find a way that sort of works, but I don't think it's what you are really asking for. I'll post it here in case it's helpful.

  Basically it's a workaround scrabbled together by butchering OP's built in avatar hover. By placing this code on a page I can get it to link to a filtered version of my character list, then you would just make a custom image for the characters that were part of the session.

  Breaking that down:

  <a href="https://abersade-testbed.obsidianportal.com/characters?filters=tag_cycle2"; class="wiki-content-link"> - places the code and allows the link to be clickable and leads to the filtered characters (also needs the </a> at the end). The URL for the filter was pulled from the Characters page by filtering based on tagging.

  Characters - What the link is called. Related Characters would likely be more fitting but this was just a proof of concept.

  <img src="https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/images/7160026/PoM_-_Frederick.jpg"></a>; - Closes the code and designates the picture that you want to use, the URL of which would be pulled from your media library for your site.

   

  The crappy part about this workaround is that you would need to create a custom image each session. Not too difficult if your session only involves a few characters, but yours feature many.

  I imagine what you'd like is a grid of character portraits or something along those lines. Heck, even a way to just embed the filtered character list would likely do the trick. This would make for a good feature request, especially if it could be used on an pages in the site instead of only the ALs.

  @IanHoulihan - It looks great! Just as an FYI, we did add this to the feature request list but it will likely take a while to be implemented.

  In the meantime, here are some additional suggestions from the devs if you wanted to try any of them out and if they're helpful: 

  Option 1:

  Go to the Characters page, filter it to the tag, and then screenshot the grouping of the Characters.

  Take that image, and make the background transparent.

  Then post that image on the Adventure Log just like any other image. The transparent background should let the Adventure Log background show throw so that the backgrounds match up.

  This method means that the image will stay the same even if later one of the Characters is deleted or changed to “dead” with a different CSS appearance, etc.

  But, it also means that the Characters layout (like 2 columns or 1 column) will always be that layout, even if viewed on a mobile screen, for example.

   

  Option 1.5:

  Similar to Option 1, but screenshot each Character tile individually, and then use HTML and CSS in the Adventure Log to arrange them on the page, or just insert them like any other image from the Media Library.

  This is probably the most straightforward option.

   

  Option 2:

  (This is probably the worst option because it will be the most brittle.)

  Go to the Characters page, filter it to the tag.

  Then “inspect” the grouping of Characters, find the parent HTML element, and then “copy Element”.

  That will give you all of the HTML from that section.

  Then paste that HTML into the Adventure Log.

  Then add either Custom CSS or inline CSS to mirror the CSS on the Characters page that.

   

  Option 3:

  Add Custom JavaScript that creates an iframe on the Adventure Log page at a div with a specific id.

  The iframe would point at the Characters page and use the tag as a filter, so it would basically load the entire Characters page in a window inside of the Adventure Log.

  Size the iframe so that it only shows all of the Characters in the group.

  And scroll/shift the content of the iframe so that it shows the Characters part only.

  Hide the iframe’s scroll bars.
