How to Carousel

Looking for a guide on how to use the Carousel feature.

I have around 60 PDF's in the campaign's media library that I would like to set up as a slideshow, but not sure how to do this or if the Carousel option is the right way to proceed.

I do see now that I can only select image files for a slideshow, and not PDF's directly from the Media Library.  So I think what I should try instead is to combine all my PDF's into a single file and link to that file, so then we can scroll through the PDF that way instead of a Carousel.

But if there is a way to select PDF's into the slideshow, I would definitely use that feature.

I don't have an example pdf to try this with at the moment, but I know you can put more than just pictures from the campaign in the carousel slides. The format for the carousel looks like below, try placing a pdf into one of the "slideshow-content" lines in the gap in the middle, might work.

    [slideshow]

    [slideshow-content]  [end-slideshow-content]

    [slideshow-content]  [end-slideshow-content]

    [slideshow-content]  [end-slideshow-content]

    [slideshow-content]  [end-slideshow-content]

    [slideshow-options] true | 1 | 1 | 300 | false | false | 2000 | false [end-slideshow-options]

    [end-slideshow]

@righteousdude Here's an update from our Devs, but more or less what @Abersade mentioned!

    Open a new Wiki Page.

On the side of the textbox in the button list there is one labeled “Carousel”.

Click that and it brings up a select screen of the images (and only the images) in the Campaign’s Media Library.

Then set the other settings and click “Insert”.

That will create some square bracket “code” that is kind of structured like HTML.

The default is that it will only use Images from the Media Library. But, if the member wants to hack it, they can make it show PDFs.

    Here’s how …

Do the above to get some of the square bracket code in there.

    Notice the:

    [slideshow-content] … [end-slideshow-content]

Where the “…” is replaced with the Media Library references.

That “…” can be replaced with any HTML.

So, then click the “Image/PDF Embed” and select a PDF from the Media Library. Insert that and it will generate a “div” that will show the PDF.

Now, put that whole generated “div” in place of the “…” in the [slideshow-content] … [end-slideshow-content]

And then just do that for as many PDFs as you want to show.

If you click through the Carousel Example above, the 3rd (and final) “image” is a PDF as an example.
