In 1979 I started my first big D&D campaign. Each successive campaign was the next generation, children of the original PCs and their hirelings. Now it is 2025 and after 8 sub campaigns we have reached the endgame. Last week the survivors of six of the sub campaigns came together to form the group facing the final Big Bad.
I can't believe, as I approach 60, that what I started at 14 years old is finally drawing to a close! This next year or so is going to be flat out gonzo!
Check out this motley assortment of characters in the final party
I could not pull all of this off without the organizational tools OP gives me, merci beaucoup to the team!

That is crazy! I can't believe you had a group stick with a game that long! I can't get a game to last longer than a few months lol amazing, thanks for being apart of the community, we can't do it without you! ♥

@vadercomplex It is a game of Theseus I have to admit. Of the original group I"m still DMing and one other gav up gaming. The rest have passed on. New people arrive, old ones leave (and sometimes come back). This time it's surviving characters from all the prior games for the big Crisis on Infinite Oerths climax.
Just did some updating to the front page the main wiki page that helps put it in perspective. You can see which characters came from where. Let me know what you think!

I did an 8 year campaign, which I used to think was impressive- this blows me away! Awesome to know something like that exists!!
Just trying to help out.
@gamingmegaverse you do me honor sir. I'm sure a lot of it is my ADHD hyperfocus over the years.

Hey @Dungeon_Master_Loki - what an honour to have run a campaign for so long. I have certainly enjoyed peeking in to your windows on Obsidian Portal over the years. Congratulations, and good luck on closing things off. Whatever will you do afterward?

Merci! Bon! That depends on the state of the Omniverse when they're done. Probably more one shots, Paranoia comes to mind, and another campaign built on whatever is left after the Crisis. This one will probably run between two and three years. Session after next they get an opportunity to stop the Spellplague in the Forgotten Realms, the they dip into Arcforge. Can't map it out further without knowing how they fare and also what tarot cards get pulled. (Since the deck is getting published as soon as the box is done, I've integrated it into the mechanics of the game. Every card is an NPC or PC from the Planejammer games.)
