New Feature: "Character Prep Reminder" emails

We just deployed a new feature that emails the "Going" Players of a Campaign a couple days after a Calendar Event has passed. The email reminds them to update their Characters and some other things that help the future game sessions to be more fun.

This way OP does the nudging/nagging/reminding, so the GM doesn't have to.

Let us know if there are other Player reminding tasks like this that you'd appreciate OP taking off your plate.

These notification emails are on by default for all Campaigns, but if you don't want to your Campaign to send these emails to your Players, you can go to Campaign Settings > Advanced, and uncheck "Send Character Prep tips to "Going" Players after Calendar Events".

    Default opt-out emailing is annoying.  It should be opt-in..

    @Hojou

    Thanks for the feedback!

    We thought about making it opt-in, but one of the most consistent issues we hear from GMs is "how do I get my Players more engaged in my Campaign?"

    This feature is aimed directly at that. And we want the default settings of a new Campaign or a new Account to be the settings that we already know are going to set the member up for success.

    So, making this setting a one-time opt-out when a member is setting up their Campaign seemed like a decent tradeoff against the prevalence of that issue.

    Why not also let the GM make this decision for individual campaigns?

    @Hojou, I'm not sure I'm following which decision you're referring to?

    This setting is in the Campaign Settings > Advanced tab, so the GM makes the decision for each Campaign.
