In these circumstances would the slave parents choose for their daughter to be born a slave?

Last night I have A DAD Dream about A DAD World were 1 Country ruled the world, Slavery was legal and people having visions of the future was rare but not unheard

In the dream the owner of 2 Slaves planned to let their daughter be born free but then he had a vision which showed that if the daughter of his 2 Slaves was born A Slave then on her 14th birthday she would accidentally save the life of the future king of the world

His father would buy hers and her parents freedoms and adopt her, eventually the 2 would fall in love and marry and eventually his love for his slave born queen would result in the eternal world-wide abolishment of slavery

He told the 2 slaves what his vision had shown him and gave them a choice

Either they choose that he lets their daughter be born free but she won't do something that results in the eternal world-wide abolishment of slavery, which means slavery won't be allowed outlawed for at least another millennium, if ever

Or they can choose for her to be born a slave, but 14 years from now something happens that gets her and them freed and another 14 years later, so 28 years from now, the love the king has for his slave born queen results in the eternal world-wide abolishment of slavery

In the end the 2 Slave Parents to be make the choice that its better to have their daughter be born A Slave, spend 14 years as A Slave then do something that many years from now results in the eternal world-wide abolishment of slavery then have her be born free, which would mean that she won't do something that results in the eternal world-wide abolishment of slavery which means that Slavery won't be outlawed for at least another millennium, if ever

But I want a opinion, In these circumstances would the slave parents be right in choose for their daughter to be born a slave?

After all they decided it was best for their daughter to suffer 14 years of Slavery when doing so guarantees she would do something that would result in the eternal world-wide abolishment of slavery then it was to have her be born free, which means that she won't do something that results in the internal world-wide abolishment of slavery, which means that Slavery won't be outlawed for at least another millennium, if ever

How guaranteed is this future dream?  If they choose for her to be a slave, is it 100% guaranteed that she will then live to be at least 28 to fulfill the full prophecy?

What's the infant mortality rate for a free baby born to slaves in this time/place?

I guess it depends on the parents' perspective.  Their owner is the one asking them if they want to have a free baby or not, so maybe their life of slavery isn't so hard and having the baby be a slave won't actually be that much different of an upbringing for the child than being free before age 14 ... at which point she is free either way (assuming the prophecy comes true).

I've just realized that Id forgotten to mention a lot of things from the dream that answer all the questions you asked and even answer some that its likely you'll ask sooner or later. Sorry

The dream showed that the Slave parents owners family, meaning not just him, treat their Slaves very well and have done so for centuries

It showed that even without the prophecy the girls parents owner treated his Slaves well enough had the girls chances of survival would be no less then 27%, but it didn't show if people treating their Slaves as well as he does and his family did is common or rare

The dream showed that Slaves being treated this well was unique 53 years ago but nowadays its not unique, but just because it isn't unique doesn't meant that it isn't almost unique

I've just had a scary thought, 53 years ago his family was the only family in the world that treated Slaves this well, in modern times theirs at least 1 other family in the world that treats their Slaves this well but its possible that theirs only 1 other family in the world that treats their Slaves this well

The official reason is to ensure a good sales price later in the slaves life, that's completely untrue but the family lets 94% of the people of the country, which covers the entire world, that aren't slaves believe that so that their not looked down upon

But the slave parents owner is very loyal to the king, and if true the prophecy will prevent both the death of the kings son and the end of the current royal line, sometimes being as loyal as the slave parents owner is to the king can be bothersome

So to better ensure the prophecy is fulfilled despite being A Slave most of the people of the country were led to believe that she was his illegitimate daughter that he'd had with A Slave and allowed to be born A Slave and despite being A Slave she was to be treated as if she A Nobles illegitimate daughter, and that's what most people believe actually had happened

He also led most people to believe that he'd regretted it in seconds, sadly seconds too late, but without a order from The king she can't be freed before her 18th birthday, but on her 18th birthday he will free her and make her his heir

All the people in the castle would know was what he told them, which is that she she was his illegitimate daughter that he'd had with A Slave and allowed to be born A Slave and he'd regretted it in seconds but without a order from The king she can't be freed before her 18th birthday, but on her 18th birthday he will free her and make her his heir

But in truth its all a lie designed to ensure that she was not only able to fulfill the prophecy, which specified she had to be Born A Slave, but was well treated enough that their was no risk that she would resent authority enough that she'd let the future king die

The prophecy showed that the attack she saved him from wasn't a accident, but it was a treasonous plot against the royal family, initially he kept quiet about it to protect himself, but over time, meaning by around the time of the girls 2nd birthday, something happened

What happened is that over time he actually grew to genuinely love and care for The Slave Infant that people believed was his illegitimate daughter, and he decided that if the prophecy didn't happen then on her 18th birthday he really would free her and make her his heir

His thinking was that if the prophecy didn't happen then he'd blame himself, after all if not for his faith in the prophecy she'd have been born free, and he knew that he owe's it to her parents to do that for both them and her

As you can imagine the girls father wasn't too happy with people believing his wife had had a child with their owner, but when he remembered that this would increase the odds of the prophecy being fulfilled

The prophecy would result in him, his wife and daughter being freed the day after his daughters 14th birthday and less then 15 years after that the crown prince would marry his daughter and his wedding present to her would be the eternal world-wide abolishment of Slavery I can imagine him putting up with it for it being, in the words of Dumbledore, "The Greater Good"
