Pages not linking correctly

edited December 2015 in Campaign Portal Building
Hey, new obsidian user, but not new to html or css, and this isn't an overtly css question but I've been having an issue with one particular page not connecting with some pages linked within it using the bracket method. But only some, others work fine. I can't seem to hunt down the reason why. I guess it's not that big of an issue because at the end of the day i can just link them with url links, but has anyone else have this problem or have a solution?

Does your page title include any punctuation?
I've regularly had problems with pages with titles that include : or - or ;. Rebuilding the page without the punctuation tends to get rid of the problem.

"Signs & Portends" - The talk of war predominates...
"Dwarves of Lost Dwarves of Lost Koldukar" - In the beginning...

    Thank you,

But here's the interesting thing, it's only on this one page they don't work and other links on this page work. I've even remade all the pages involved to see if that would fix it, but to show it specifically:

Here is the page that the links won't work on, if you scroll to the bottom you'll see both a The Fourth Empire and The Eras of Terrasia links that are brown (not linked to a page)

    Here's both those pages and

    So they exist.

And here they are linked to another page and working

So they work on other pages just not the one. I feel this is some glitch in OP that is out of my hands.

I've had a similar issue today in an Adventure Log. Trying to link to one of my wiki pages with the bracket method worked fine if the link was by itself, but when it was in the middle of other text it failed. The url below shows an example of what I am experiencing.

Further experimentation suggests it has something to do with the quotation marks.

The [[Hommlet|Village of Hommlet]] example 1 - works

"The [[Hommlet|Village of Hommlet]] example 2 - fails

""The [[Hommlet|Village of Hommlet]] example 3 - works

Yes, probably because the quotation marks are being parsed as a possible beginning of a link. If you want a link inside of a quote you can do the following

"The "Village of Hommlet": the rest of my text"

where is the url to your Hommlet page.

forgot if I do it properly it just shows the link. So like below except just one line

    "The "Village of Hommlet"
: the rest of my text"

Probably so. And I use that parsing elsewhere. It just hadn't come up (completely by happenstance, I suppose) before now.
