  If player character is checked, down at the bottom, make sure the owner is listed as him, otherwise ANY player can edit any other player's character page. In a simple sense, it prevents everyone else from messing with YOUR character (if you are the player).
  
  Aside from that, there are no other obvious things that checking the box does. However, you can use that checkbox along with CSS to make things different on your character list. For example, "this campaign":https://eidl.obsidianportal.com/characters has that PC's outlined in yellow, so they stand out from NPCs.
  
  The code might look like:
  @.character-index .character-list-item:not(.npc) {
  border:3px solid;
  border-color: #E6E600 #BDBD00 #A6A602 #CFCF00;

  Once upon a time PC's used to have a seperate section at the top of the characters list too. They changed it with the reforge.

  Or do like I did on SHadows and not use the Character page except to enter PCs. All my NPC's have their own page, and the PC's do to. Yes, I've recently customized the default characters page but that was ebcause one of my players stumbled on it and felt it didn't belong with the rest of my site.
  
  Part of me is even considering hiding the character's button and just placing a link in the GM only area of my main page since I only use it at Character Creation. I modify from the character Page which is accessable through my site without the default pagge

  Or, you can make them all wikis.... Makes everything have the same rule sets.... I use a performers page, and hide the character link.
