Came up with another idea for the front page instead of using the overlapping images - what do you think?

Actually, that looks great and really amps that page up significantly and feels setting appropriate. Good stuff!

Work continues on my Savage Worlds campaign taking place in a universe where Stargate SG-1 (and Atlantis), Farscape, and the ORIGINAL (1978) Battlestar Galactica all take place together.

anyhow, you can find it here "Phoenix Rising":https://phoenix-rising-1.obsidianportal.com/

The latest addition is the Opening Credits. Obviously, no characters yet, so a place holder is used repeatedly in them, but I really would appreciate some input to see what you all think of the video and the site, as well as the overall concept.

    Thanks all

I really enjoyed the trailer video, and the footage you found for it looked pretty good. I also think they layout you have for the shots where you will be showcasing the characters in the video (once ready) looks very fitting for the rest of the trailer. Your edits and transitions looked good on it, and everything seemed to follow a cohesive pattern. The background music selected also seemed appropriate for things - kudos on a job well done!

The video looks good - and sounds like Commander Shepherd is going to kick some serious ass! ;-)

I like the look and feel of the site design, feels techy, like control panels you'd see in star trek or some such. The design looks great!

    Thanks

Actually Shepard isn;t in the game at all, just a test character and place holder. And an inside joke, because the enemy is going to probably be an evil version of the Mass Effect Universe, minus humans...Asari rule with Krogan enforcers...Quarians are hunted rebels on the fringe, Solarians are the scientists and kept around only for their inventions, while Turians are the generals of the Asari armies.

I enjoyed looking at the Phoenix Rising campaign site. I am a total sucker for Sci-fi RPG's these days and anything with 'Stargate' has to be good! I'm always amazed by the custom sites, CSS and whatnot that are out there. Looks like the dashboard of the Enterprise or something. I'm rooting for 'Test 3'!

I just gave my plain-jane site a graphical facelift. Nothing fancy, just a new orange-y background, retro gammaworld logo lifted off the 1983 2nd edition box set, and five new graphic strips in the home page intro to give more you-are-there feel.

I've been writing this campaign for the last few weeks, but as its looking like I'm going to be GM'ing it in a few weeks(a couple of guys I know want me to GM a campaign), I'd love some feedback on it.

This is only the second campaign I've ever written and will be the first I ever GM. (other than a few one shots) For that reason I'm open to any and all criticism/suggestions.

The Campaign is for the Palladium - Rifts Game System. Its a sandbox piracy campaign set around a Post-Apocalyptic version of the Great Lakes.
"Rifts - Great Lakes Piracy Campaign":https://glpc.obsidianportal.com/
It only uses basic formatting (I'm not Ascendant, so just some custom images basically), but I do have a lot of content in there(wiki/characters) to flesh out the actual campaign.

    Hi Arakash,

A few comments in regards to your site.

I've only played Palladium once and I've no experience with Rifts so I can't say much there, other than to say that it looks good provided that your intended readers are somewhat familiar with the terms and acronyms used. I'm apparently not in that category. XD

Picking up Ascendant really does allow for a lot more flexibility in terms of themes and controlling how your pages look, as well as a host of other neat features, it might be worth a shot.

The text on your map is difficult/impossible to read in some cases, it's just a tad too small. This is particularly an issue at the top of the map where there are several bits of text that can't be read. I really like the overall look of the map though, all of the other defining characteristics on the map are very easy to distinguish.

Your custom program to generate ships/cargo/lake traffic sounds really promising.

Your game looks like it could be a lot of fun, I'm interested to see how it turns out.

    Hi, all.

I'm a new user here, and I love the site. I've been working pretty hard this weekend to get my players in and add my adventure logs. I'm almost up-to-date.

I just have the free site so far, and that won't change any time soon, so I'm slightly limited. But I believe I've made a decent go of it as regards the wiki and adventure logs.

Can anyone give it a look and tell me what they think? Maybe some pointers on moving forward or how to break up the logs to read a bit better?

    Thanks in advance!

Site appears too new to do any sort of meaningful review on it to be honest.

As far as links go for the forums, you need to use the following syntax:

The most important yardstick of a site isn't how pretty this community thinks it is, but how useful your players find it. I see a campaign full of engaged players, all contributing the site, and the speaks louder kudos than we ever could. Good work!

Wouldn't mind some comments on my ASOIAF campaign, if anyone wants to take a look.

    https://bloodandstone.obsidianportal.com

I really need to work on a new intro page and relegate the history writeup to the wiki. And the early adventure logs are a bit incoherent, so don't be surprised if they, well, don't make sense.

Okay, I think I may have a bit of a... problem.

In the last month or so, I've created over 200 wiki pages and 50+ characters on my campaign site. I've got cross-referenced maps, locations, organizations, deities, history...

Well, so really the only problem is that I'm only about a quarter of the way done with what I want to accomplish here. I'm having an utter blast setting up all my background info for this highly detailed campaign. This level of prep hasn't been easily available for me until now, and I'm loving it.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of the work I'm doing is behind the scenes (GM Only). But I think it's starting to come together nicely.

So if anybody wants to take a peek, I'm hanging out in "Ptolus":https://ptolus-city-by-the-spire-by-bryan.obsidianportal.com

I popped in and dropped you a comment plus became a fan of the page. You are off to a great start already, and I am eager to see how you keep evolving the page over time. One thing that I would suggest is getting some navigation in place on some pages that can get you back to other pages quickly. Perhaps even going so far as to include your slick bottom of the page menu on the Main Wiki to the end of all your pages. It would make some of the general bouncing about the site work out a little better in the long run I think.

The last thing I would mention is possibly looking into getting some more art up on the site, some of the pages right now can be a bit encumbering as they exist as a long wall of text without much else to break that feeling up.

Finally, as you mentioned in your post, it seems there is likely a lot of content that is presently GM only and not visible on the page so far. Characters in particular seem rather lacking of any information outside of the picture (if there is one in place). I am assuming that as things progress we will start seeing a bit more information in some of these areas.

My group decided to move our Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi game from Fate Core to Fate Accelerated. We hashed out how we wanted to handle the various elements (the Force, Starships, Species etc.) on my new Star Wars: Rise of the Infinite Empire site until we were ready to make the full transition while still playing with the original system. For that second site I wanted to give it a similar feel to the original but make it distinctive enough that a viewer would know they were on a different site. I would love to hear what you guys think of it. See the Link below:

Beautiful site HumAnnoyd. I see you've incorporated most of the commentary from this thread into the layout and design of this new site.

    * *Weapons and Equipment*. Did you intend to expand this page to include equipment, or should it be retitled to Weapons and Armour? It's a nit-pick, but still it struck me as odd.
    * *Character page*. I like the information provided. At first read it seemed an odd mix of rules with background; but it works and it seems consistent between PCs (more detailed naturally) and NPCs. I especially liked the idea of a character template as a character. BTW: the Gisaku Saberota page has an image link that isn't working.
    * *All small-caps*. I am not a fan of this (YMMD) and I find it difficult to read long passages using this font.
    * *A lot of pages do not have any tags*. A quick run-through several pages didn't find any broken links (which is incredible), but it seems odd that you didn't use tags throughout. Some pages are heavily tagged, as are most all of your characters (with at least their race).
    * *Back buttons/Main page buttons*. It would be nice if they went to the section where the link to them originates, but I like that you included some method of returning to the previous page. Still, the way it works now involves a lot of scrolling (or CTRL+F).
    * *Adventure Log*. Clicking on Episode 7 was a bit of a disappointment, as all there was was a graphic. But the layout is sound. Directing people to another (and very similar) site for previous logs is not a bad way to go about it, but you might want to include links from that site back to your new one. I got distracted and started reviewing your previous site as the colours and layout are a bit too similar to tell the difference at a glance.

    Hope this helps.

very nice job HumAnnoyd :) the site has a great feel to it

I agree the text is a little difficult to read for me (but who am i to criticise that? "my font choice"https://the-great-pendragon.obsidianportal.com/wikis/uther-period is not to everyone's taste either!). The yellow font on the classic scrolling up intro page is very easy to read... I dont quite know why the difference is so marked. Is the adventure-log text size the same? or is it in bold? maybe its the yellow colour that makes it more user friendly?

some of the body of text in the adventure logs need spicing up a little - a few more images in the text helps to break up the 'wall of text' adventure write ups (i suffer thsi problem too and have set myself the target of including a minimum of two images in every write up from now on)
