    h1. OP Structure & UI - Part 1

h3. Stretch Goal #2 - Names! Names! Names!

*Issue:* Contractual promises made through Kickstarter:
    • A good, solid random name generator as part of the character creation and management.
    • A variety of different naming "genres". You'll be able to quickly switch between Elven-ish, Dwarven, guttural Ork (think lots of Ks and Xs), and so forth.
    • Fast! - It will be right there when you need it, ready to give you the name you need and keep your players in the game.
    • Integrated - Instead of just spitting a name at you, you'll be able to create a new barebones character on the fly with the name pre-generated.
    *Date Reported:* Kickstarter campaign
    *Source:* "Kickstarter campaign":https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/252020431/obsidian-portal-reforged/description
    *Status:* Partially implemented
*Work-around:* External name generator tools on the web, of which there are tons.

h3. Stretch Goal #4 - Custom Campaign URLs

*Issue:* Contractual promises made through Kickstarter: Ascendant campaigns can set up their own raw domain (ie. "mycampaign.com").
    *Date Reported:* Kickstarter campaign
    *Source:* "Kickstarter campaign":https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/252020431/obsidian-portal-reforged/description
    *Status:* Not implemented.
    *Work-around:* None at this time.

    h3. Stretch Goal #5 - Natural Editing

*Issue:* Contractual promises made through Kickstarter: True natural editing, as explained in this video: https://vimeo.com/63467332
    *Date Reported:* Kickstarter campaign
    *Source:* "Kickstarter campaign":https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/252020431/obsidian-portal-reforged/description
    *Status:* Not implemented.
    *Work-around:* None at this time.

h3. Overall color scheme is horrible

*Issue:* The overall color scheme of the new OP is deplorable. Ascendant members can comprehensively adjust their own campaign sites, and non-Ascendants can do some minor changes uner Settings-Style, but all members must suffer the gold text on light beige throughout the main OP site.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around 1:* Custom CSS or modifying the color scheme, but this only applies to a given campaign and not the obsidian site as a whole.
*Work-around 2:* Firefox users can modify their UserContent.css to adjust the color scheme within that browser. Thanks goes to CGregory for the suggestion (with example and explanation below).

    h3. Campaign List

*Issue:* Long drop-down list for campaigns (when there are plenty) is inaccessible on small screens.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* Unknown, assumed still an issue.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

h3. Clear segregation of PC / NPC

*Issue:* The characters page no longer distinguished between PC and NPC
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
    *Work-around:* Use tags to segregate.

h3. "By Popularity" option gone from the campaign sort order options

*Issue:* Being able to order by popularity was useful, both to those campaigns that had achieved significant fans (the value of fans diminishes greatly without this) and those using the list to find well-done campaigns that had great potential for inspiring others.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

h3. OP Forums no longer accessible across the site

*Issue:* OP Forums used to be more accessible, with a visible link at the top on every page. While there is plenty of space on the top NavBar to retain this link to the forums (like between New and Search, or left of the Campaigns dropdown), it is now hidden away on the big footer that is only accessible from the dashboard or an OP page unrelated to a specific campaign. It is also no longer called "Forums", which makes it even less intuitive to find.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* Go back to your Dashboard and scroll to the bottom, click on "Community".

    h1. OP Structure & UI - Part 2

h3. Typed date entry for Adventure Logs

*Issue:* By changing the date entry for logs into a calendar view only, this adds undue significant difficulty for any campaign where the campaign is not modern day and the adventure logs use the campaign date (futuristic, medieval, what-have you) for a more immersive element.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

h3. Buttons are unintuitive and do not have tooltips

*Issue:* Either the purpose of a button should be intuitively obvious, or the button should have a tool tip when hovered over (a smart design even when the button’s purpose seems obvious). Even the buttons that have text directly in them lose the text in constrained space, such as in the forums. Tool tips would be especially valuable to newer members - and the retention of said group.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

    h3. OP footer colors

*Issue:* The links in the various footers do not conform to campaign color settings.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* Ascendant members can adjust colors with custom CSS, however non-Ascendant members can not adjust the colors with the color scheme system provided.

    h1. OP Back-End

h3. OP Classes with the word "description"

*Issue:* OP implemented base classes that use names with the word "description", but any use of the word "script" (including in other words, like "description") is not accepted so these classes cannot be changed through CSS. Again, this isn’t about custom class names, this is about default OP core class names.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

    h3. Campaign RSS feed broken

*Issue:* RSS feeds no longer work. Original Feed locations were formatted as : http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/CAMPAIGN-NAME/recent-updates/rss.xml but with the campaign renaming, the feeds are down. Going to http://CAMPAIGN-NAME.obsidianportal.com/recent-updates/rss.xml takes you to an RSS feed for the entire OP site, all campaigns, instead of just your personal campaign.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

h3. Failure to deselect mailing players for GM-only page updates

*Issue:* Previously, marking a page as GM-only would prevent players from receiving email notifications. This has stopped working, making players aware of GM-only content.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* Manually deselect each player to be notified for each change to a GM-only page.

h3. External links are not assigned a class name

*Issue:* Because external links using the Textile method don’t have class names assigned, they can’t be easily singled out for styling.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around 1:* Work around is .wiki-page a, but this requires you to be careful about precedence with anything that targets internal wiki links specifically.
*Work-around 2:* Use full HREFs for external links with custom class names. Regular members can modify everything but pseudo classes with inline CSS, and Ascendant members can use full CSS treatments.

h3. Child-Parent Selector forbidden from custom CSS

*Issue:* The > character is forbidden in campaign custom CSS, which prevents users from directly overriding certain default styles in the new design.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* None identified at this time.

    h3. Adventure Log Comments Broken

*Issue:* From killervp: All adventure log comments come up blank. Tried 3 sites, Mine, Regnum, and Mysteria. Pre-reforge we used to get updates that a comment on an adventure log was posted. That has not happened since the reforge.
    *Date Reported:* September 22, 2015
*Source:* Forums; "Adventure Log Comments Broken":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=4059&page=1#Item_1
    *Status:* Still an issue.
*Work-around:* Actively check for adventure log comments manually.

    h1. Search

    h3. Raw markup / Textile

*Issue:* Entries on the search page show raw Textile markup not interpreted. Baard has provided this example: "Cracks in the Facade – London tag":https://cracks.obsidianportal.com/search?tag=London that clearly shows the issue (make especial note of the fourth entry down which gives no page content at all). The display should simply be the raw text with no markup and no text of the attempted markup (Textile or otherwise).
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

    h3. Search is OR only

*Issue:* Search results displays all results matching any of the qualifiers rather than using the criteria collectively to drill deeper. There should be a way to toggle between OR and AND, to use multiple criteria to refine a search rather than broaden it.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

h3. Search unavailable for OP elements

*Issue:* There does not seem to be a way to search the site for a campaign, subject, or fellow members.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

    h1. Forums

h3. Forum "stickies" no longer "sticky" the forum to the top

*Issue:* "Stickies" served a valuable purpose for thread visibility, one used in the OP forums as well. This no longer works in campaign forums.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

h3. Forums no longer follow the personal profile setting for email notification

*Issue:* Profile settings for email notification is important; some like to be notified and others don’t. Campaign forums no longer adhere to those preferences but instead default to "email all".
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
*Status:* This is still an issue.
*Work-around:* Deselct the "email all" and uncheck names accordingly.

h1. Files: Images, Video, & Maps

h3. Stretch Goal #1 - Reworking the Maps

*Issue:* Contractual promises made through Kickstarter:
    • Deeper zoom levels for Ascendant maps - 5 instead of the current 3.
    • Higher resolution images - 4096x4096 pixels instead of the current 1024x1024.
    • A library of map markers - Different colors and shapes.
    • Better connection with the rest of your campaign - Add markers for specific characters and/or wiki pages.
    *Date Reported:* Kickstarter campaign
    *Source:* "Kickstarter campaign":https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/252020431/obsidian-portal-reforged/description
    *Status:* Partially implemented
    *Work-around:* None at this time.

h3. Stretch Goal #3 - File Storage Locker

*Issue:* Contractual promises made through Kickstarter:
    • Expand the image upload to include files of any type.
    • Increase the storage size limits - free limit of 250MB, Ascendant limit of 10GB.
    *Date Reported:* Kickstarter campaign
    *Source:* "Kickstarter campaign":https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/252020431/obsidian-portal-reforged/description
    *Status:* Not implemented.
*Work-around:* Store files elsewhere, like Photobucket or GoogleDocs, then embed or simply link depending on the file type.

    h3. Embedded media is broken

*Issue:* Embedded media elements fail to function properly, including YouTube videos, SoundCloud songs, PDFs, and so on.
    *Date Reported:* July 22, 2015
    *Source:* Forums; "YouTube Videos":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=4001&page=1#Item_38
    *Status:* Still an issue
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

h3. Compressed images produce poor results

*Issue:* The character images (on their individual pages) are being so heavily compressed that it severely impacts the visual quality.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown, needs verification.
*Work-around:* Ascendant members can use CSS to adjust appearances on the character portraits.

    h3. Image Upload Broken

*Issue:* From killervp: Cannot upload any images. Figured it needed its own topic, as I know this is true for all.
    *Date Reported:* September 22, 2015
    *Source:* Forums; "Image Upload Broken":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=4060&page=1#Item_1
    *Status:* Still an issue.
*Work-around:* Link to images stored elsewhere, such as Photobucket.

    h3. Map Won't Update?

*Issue:* From AJCooke: For some reason, my OP maps stopped updating today. Every time I make a change to one of the GM flags or move them, they immediately change/move back. I've made sure that I'm logged in.
    *Date Reported:* September 22, 2015
    *Source:* Forums; "Map Won't Update?":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=4061&page=1#Item_0
    *Status:* Still an issue.
    *Work-around:* None.

    h1. Edit Boxes

    h3. Edit box text color

*Issue:* Edit boxes use light-colored fonts on light-colored background, making it difficult to read when making updates. Edit boxes should revert back to at least using black fonts, to make editing pages easier.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Still an issue.
*Work-around:* For ascendant members who can change the CSS, various individuals have provided code in numerous posts / threads that address different edit boxes, including the CSS edit box.

    h3. Edit box buttons

*Issue:* Base functionality elements on edit pages (Save, cancel, etc.) should be more accessible, such as near the Preview button, rather than at the bottom of the page. This is also the same concept behind the move for the edit buttons themselves.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Still an issue.
*Work-around:* Given that these are HTML elements, no workaround exists other than scrolling to the bottom of the page.

h3. Bullet button not functioning on multiple line

*Issue:* The bullet button fails to affect multiple lines independently when multiple lines are selected; only the first line receives the bullet treatment.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* Manually apply the bullet treatment to each line individually, one at a time.

    h1. DST Display

    h3. Scrollbars

*Issue:* DST sheets have enforced scrollbars, despite crafted designs to avoid them.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* None specified at this time.

    h3. Generic DST Avatar

*Issue:* The generic avatar is broken inside any DST. Most likely related to the character image issue (above).
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1

    h1. Compatibility

h3. Incompatibility with iPhone / Safari

*Issue:* The site crashes when opened in Safari on the iPhone.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* Other than using a different means to access, none specified at this time.

h3. Login issues on a Samsung Galaxy S3’s Internet browser

*Issue:* On a Samsung Galaxy S3’s Internet browser, the login page text phrases "I signed up with a username" and "Create new account" are not clickable links.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1

    h1. Suggestions

    h3. Dice Roller

Suggestion: Bring back the integrated dice roller, to allow PBP games to have a dice roller system that can be used in the forums without concern for "fudging the results".
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* Use external tools, like Roll20 or such.

    h3. Collapsible right-hand sidebars

Suggestion: The ability to collapse the Forum list on the left hand side within Forums. That way I could navigate the forums quickly, then collapse the nav panel for more reading/input space. Come to think of it, a lot of those sidebars would benefit from a collapse option so that those who want more space can have it, and those who want more side bars can have it.
    *Date Reported:* Post-Reforge
*Source:* Forums; "New Reforge Issue Tracking List":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3414&page=1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* Ascendant members can use CSS to customize as they see fit; making sidebars collapsible or hidden altogether.

h3. Update Calendar to auto-include end date

Suggestion: Allow a new calendar event to auto set the end date to the same date as the start date, or alternatively don't require an end date when saving the calendar event
    *Date Reported:* August 10, 2015
*Source:* Forums; "Update Calendar to auto-include end date":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=4008&page=1#Item_1
    *Status:* Unknown.
*Work-around:* Manually adding an end date for a given game session.

Please note that each issue was verified to still be an issue or fixed, regardless of statements one way or the other from the thread.
I did NOT process each open issue in the help system, since Alex indicated he was going to be doing that over time. Duplicating work is not very efficient, so it seemed inappropriate. That said, if you know of a bug in the help system that is affecting you and it isn't listed here, feel free to comment here and I will add it.

I will look through each of these, and see if I have others to add, but awesome- so glad you came back, and I hope this time you have success.

    Just trying to help out.

Thanks, Killervp, me too! Success here means success for all of the OP community, because it means it helped dev to fix the issues. We can only wait and see.

Overall color scheme is horrible issue

Issue: The overall color scheme of the new OP is deplorable. Ascendant members can comprehensively adjust their own campaign sites, and non-Ascendants can do some minor changes uner Settings-Style, but all members must suffer the gold text on light beige throughout the main OP site.
    Date Reported: Post-Reforge
Source: Forums; New Reforge Issue Tracking List
Status: This is still an issue.
Work-around: Custom CSS or modifying the color scheme, but this only applies to a given campaign and not the obsidian site as a whole.

If this really bothers you, another possible work around (at least for firefox users) is to create a UserContent.css for your browser that targets obsidian portal.

for example you could add the following to your UserContent.css targeting the forums specifically.

    @-moz-document domain(forums.obsidianportal.com) {
    body {
    color: black !important;

Be prepared for your eyes to burn out from the yellow! Basically the background is turned yellow and the text is turned black for the forums in this example but you could add any css you want.
If you wanted it to apply to all of obsidiant portal just change the domain from forums.obsidianportal.com to obsidianportal.com

To create a UserContent.css file goto help-> troubleshooting information and click the show folder button (it is next to profile folder)
Once there create a Chrome folder and create a UserContent.css file inside of that folder.

You will need to restart firefox for the UserContent.css to take effect.

You can do similar things with IE using Tools->Internet Options->Accessibility->Format documents using my Style Sheet

But as far as I know it is an all or nothing CSS. You can't use @document domain to control which websites get affected. But unlike firefox, you can toggle it on and off without restarting IE.

I believe Chrome's support for user stylesheets was removed.

As an aside, I am making some headway on working through the items on the Support Site. A number of things I have been able to resolve outright, a number of things I have assigned to me now so that I can get them all compiled in a similar manner to this for transparent tracking and reporting purposes. Still a few hundred items (at least) that I need to get through, but I get a chunk done everyday.

While I do this I am also trying to field any new items coming in as well. I am trying my best to get at everything within 72 hours at a bare minimum (other than the backlogged items from however far back those actually go). All items that get moved to tech will have to be set into a priority, as by the looks of things there is going to be a lot of things to address.
