Greetings there! I am a Sci-fi nerd who loves to GM sci-fi games, as well as play them. I also authored my own sci-fi system with an emphasis on exploration, though elements diverse and far.

Welcome to the community, I've always found sci-fi RPGs to be a blast the times I have gotten to play them. Don't be a stranger!

    welcome :)

got any links to your bespoke system?

also what other system shave you played? traveler (love that game), star wars or star treck RPGs? what about the stargate games? or have heard of that blast from the past "Living Steel"? GURPS sci-fi is quite good to IMO

Oh, NikMak, I so love Star Wars RPG, though I think I prefer the WEG version of it best (maybe that is nostalgia though).

Traveler is my all time fave. I weirdly love the idea of death in character generation and having to start all over gain!

but Star Wars of whatever flavor is hard to beat when the mood is on you. Im loving the clone wars animated series at the moment as well (up to series four so far)!

For anyone interested, "someone has created a Star Wars skin for Mongoose Traveller.":http://happyjacks.proboards.com/board/39/ap-star-wars-mongoose-traveller

    Just sayin'. :-)

(Check Bill Roper's threads on that subforum for the .pdf downloads. He put a buttload of work into it, and it's pretty damn awesome.)

    Muahahahaha...

I played a convention one-shot of Star Wars Traveller earlier this year. It kicked ass.

My big sci-fi game right now is Outbreak: Deep Space, such a diverse and robust system it is pretty hard to beat in my book. Mmm, sci-fi survival horror!

Welcome, O Captain. I am also interested to have a peek at your system. Good sci-fi is a beautiful thing.

As for games, Stars Without Number has proved to be interesting, if a bit too deadly for my tastes (also too easy to break, but that's another story).
I enjoyed what I have played of Star Wars Saga Edition. The games I have played have been too loot heavy, but the system itself was fun. Soldiers are OP.

    Again, welcome aboard.

My friends and I have started playing the Fantasy Flight Edge of the Empire system. I have to say, once you wrap your head around the dice mechanics, its a very fun system.

Sci-fi is certainly fun. My experience system wise with RPGs so far has been Stars Without Number, which is fun. It requires certain people in a group what with being sandbox and all, though.
