Several Campaigns, on Group

Fairly new, but so far I'm liking the look of this whole system. The only question I have is, I'm wondering if there is a way to have like sub campaigns under one so that you can use the same forums, wiki, etc. The reason I ask is this because I have a group that is going to be playing together for quite some time and we will be going through several campaigns. I would like to have an over arching "campaign" where we can share all our group discussions and where the forums will always have our information, etc but I would like to organize it in such a way that I could keep track of separate campaigns we did in this group under different headings. The only way I can think of doing this now is have 1 campaign that is just a general campaign where we all hang out...then create several others for each separate campaign we do. I hope this makes sense. If not...I apologize and I'm sure I will figure something out. Thanks

You actually have it dead on- create an overarching campaign for all, with other campaigns for the individual ones.
    Good luck, and welcome!!

    Welcome to you!

I'm the opposite sort of monkey; I do one "campaign" with several "story arcs" underneath it. I guess the only time that would really be an issue for us was if the DM changed. We've swapped some players or characters out, and others in, so far so good.

Yeah...I had thought about doing that as well Bortas. Just afraid that some of the pictures, and maps, etc will begin to take up a lot of space for campaign if I am doing several runs under the one campaign. I dunno, maybe I'm thinking too much about it. I would just hate to run one campaign with several stories under it, run out of space and have to open a new one and then all of our forums, chatting, out of game RP, etc would be split between two spots....hmmmm

Just curious, how would you run out of space Mawkleonite? We have over 1000 pages on our site, with over 500 adventure logs... Still not close to maxing out the Ascendant space (although well past the free amount)

Since I moved to England (*tear*) Thorvaldr and the others in our group have created a prequel campaign. Most of the background information is still relevant for the new campaign, so we just link back to the original campaign page (Tyellador's wiki) rather than reload everything into the new campaign (2nd Empire) all over again. Still, we keep the prequel as its own obsidian portal campaign to keep the forums, adventure logs, and characters separate. When I get the time I'll make customized bits and bobs for it, but linking back saves masses of time (and free space)-- and for sections like geography, why would you need to do-it-over if it's set in the same world?

Hope that helps! Sounds like you've got a good group, Mawkleonite!

I've got a similar situation in my Pathfinder campaign where I have the main campaign and two different "sidestories" or sub-campaigns set in the same world. I have subsections in my wiki for those two sidestories to keep track of characters and character journals. I tag characters from those stories with "sidestory" or "sidestory2". And in the adventure logs, I designate those logs with the appropriate headings according to the title of the sidestory. It's a little messy, but it works for us.
