So, Thorvaldr has decided to take over GM duties! Plot Club yet lives! Resurrection is a wonderful thing- please let "Thorvaldr":https://www.obsidianportal.com/profile/Thorvaldr know if you need anything!!
So, Plot Club is alive and kicking, with some new angles, under the leadership of Thorvaldr!
For those that are unfamiliar with the concept-
The curse of being a GM is that you don’t have anyone with which to gush about your game. The people who care most about what you’re creating need to be kept in the dark by necessity, to avoid ruining the plot, and everyone else doesn’t care about these obsessive details that I’m geeking out over (“Oh neat!”). Well, that’s fine, my ego can handle it, but my story line can’t be allowed to suffer.
I’m looking for people who want to discuss the plots and stories of their campaigns in a group, using the group as a sounding board, and an “idea cloud”. I’m going to create a game, and invite any GM who wants to participate (and isn’t in a game already being discussed), and provide everyone with space to post the details of their game. Then we can post ideas, suggestions, and provide the feedback that is a vital (at least for me) part of the writing process.
The first rule of Plot Club is you do not talk about Plot Club.
The second rule of Plot Club is you DO NOT talk about Plot Club.
This means no one can join whose GM is already a member- cannot ruin the secrecy!
Come join- fresh blood always welcome!!

killervp and Thorvaldr are both really the same person with multiple personalities, running Plot Club together/himself. The whole thing has become a front for an anti-materialist, anti-corporate movement.
How would i go about disabling email notifications from plot club? I woke up today with like 30 emails O_o im a little OCD about my inbox so that just wont do
Hello, long time reader, first time poster here. I started a nice little Savage Worlds adventure where King Louis the 13th's French Musketeers were to unravel a plot that involved Galileo being forced to make a hydrogen Maser, mount it on a hot air balloon and assassinate the reining Pope as he visits the King in a miraculous show of "Gods Will". Unfortunately, the players focus went to a different game and all I have left is some notes on scrap pieces of paper waiting for them to return their attentions. I sure would like to join the Club so I can tell others all the fine details of how I combed through Wikipedia and melded fact into my fiction.
May I be invited to your Club?
@Basileus- I was just catching up on everything, and you made me spit out my coffee at work!

One of my players actually is in Connecticut- but alas, I am not. I am in CA, lovely Pasadena, where it was 78 degrees Fahrenheit today.... we do not have a snowstorm heading our way soon....
However, Basileus- I almost died laughing- that was funny.
I am still a contributor on Plot Club- just had to drop GM duties.

There is rumor of a GM only campaign on Obsidian Portal. It is a safe haven, a private campaign for GM's to get together and discuss campaigns without fear of wandering player eyes. A place to discuss ideas for your campaign, specific NPC's, how to deal with players, your overall plot, ideas for plot twists...
First rule of Plot Club: You do not talk about Plot Club.
You can guess the second.
The third rule is no players allowed. They're icky and have cooties.
Some say the initiation is long and arduous, that it will break you down to build you up stronger than before. Some say it simply involves "messaging someone.":https://www.obsidianportal.com/messages/send?message%5Brecipient%5D=Thorvaldr Others don't say anything on the subject because they have no idea what we're talking about.

I'd like to join the club. I've got the opposite problem from most people, I've got WAY more plot ideas than I have time to run. This would give me a chance to unload them on somebody else and perhaps I can finally get some sleep.
"... no players allowed. They’re icky and have cooties."
Not generally true in my campaigns but there was a rather memorable fight scene where something like that happened. Oh the things you find in the New York sewers during a monster hunters campaign...
I"d be up for some campaign discussion. My only reservation is the use of the word "plot." It has a lot of negative connotations in RPGs, that's why I tend to use the term plot thread. I go into it a lot in blog (www.railsoff.com). What game are you running?
So, is Thorvaldr still the one to contact about getting a topic unarchived? Also, is this place still active, because I see very little activity there.
I ask because it was incredibly valuable when i ran my first Shadows game and it would be sad to see such a valuable GMing resource fizzle away

To my knowledge, Thorvaldr has been away from OP for some time. I don't know if it's possible to change the forum archives without him.
I know the Plot Club has been pretty stale of late, but I believe a good amount of that is due to lost users and the various forum issues we've been facing from the Reforge.
In the past, I offered to take the reins for it, and if Thorvaldr no longer wants ownership, I'm still willing. I'd also hate to see the resource go underutilized.
I'd actually hate to see it all disappear as well. Though TBH, I didn't contribute much either in offering my own or making comment on others. It is though a great place to mine ideas and look for possible outs for dead ends campaigns may be running into or trying to avoid troupes.
if plot club resurrects itself (here or elsewhere) i would like to join up as well. I have few ideas I need help to thrash out
on a related note - and I hate to be pessimistic, but... - I feel a contingency plan for what is left of the community may be a good idea: I have been wondering if we should start up private Facebook group to move to when the time comes, but I know not everyone likes FB... anyone else had thoughts about this? perhaps a different forum provider independent of OP?
or maybe find an existing rpg forum and keep in touch that way ( http://forum.rpg.net/ or http://www.therpgsite.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2 perhaps?)? we could all move onto one of those if (when) this one folds
Keep me in the loop if you guys find a new home. Part of the value of OP is getting to take part in this community, which has already been sadly diminished.
