Hey I'm Shane, new to Obsidian Portal but not to D&D. I'm not a new to the game itself, but I understand many DM's have their own style of how to roll a character, and all I really have to say is have patience with me because when it comes to numbers lets just say I have intelligence mod of 0 or -1. That's just with numbers though, once I get into the habit of doing the math repetitively I usually jump to it. Now I'm stationed in Ft.Lewis so I don't have anyone to play D&D with, so a friend of mine recommended this site. Any tips or how too's would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

    Welcome aboard Shane! Twiggy gave you a good start- I especially recommend penandpapergames.com I also suggest checking in on any of the forums of whatever system is your favorite- as you mentioned D&D I know WOTC/Hasbro has a great players looking for games forum.

    Welcome to the forums! I would heavily recommend Pathfinder myself, it is a very popular variant of D&D that has all the rules free online. Cheers! :)

    By the way, shane5051, I'd back up TW on the "Pathfinder" thing. It is a great game, similar to D&D 3.5 and the SRD is second to none! Lots of good new stuff continually coming out from both PAIZO and KOBOLD PRESS....
