A Call For Calm

Well, for the first time since I joined OP, I'm seeing something here I never thought I would - antagonistic attitudes and a division in the community.

We all need to calm down and be a bit more understanding of each other.

Many sites were broken by the Reforging, mine included. Restoring and fixing them is a large time investment, and for some, an investment they do not wish to take. For others, like myself, it was worth the effort.

Those of us who have decided to fix their sites and continue on must be understanding of those who have not. If someone chooses to leave OP because of how their sites were affected by the reforging, we should wish them well and let them know they will be missed. It is not the place of those of us remaining to defend the site or the changes.

Those who are leaving, need to remain calm as well and not attack the site, those who maintain it, or those remaining here. Say your farewells and calmly state your reasons for going.

As one who was truly disappointed with how the Reforging went, I ask those who are planning on leaving to hang in there and give it a chance. The team has been fixing things as quickly as they can. Also, you might be surprised, like I was, after investing the time to fix your sites, at how things have improved.

Keelah Se'lai,
Keryth

    I support your sentiment, Keryth

Equally, I also support the right to complain. I have been dismayed at some of the vitriol but I also find many of the points to be of interest. The way we handle ourselves in adversity lays the foundations for our future.

    Let's get them shades out!

Oh, I am not against complaining. I did my fair share of it just after the Reforging.

What I do NOT support is what is coming across lately as attacks on people, both those defending the reforging and those who it has disappointed to the point of leaving.

We need to be understanding on both sides and remember why we all came to OP to begin with, a community of Gamers who wanted to share their campaigns and visions.

I'm still new but definitely remaining. The Dev's are pretty smart and will take and apply the feedback in time. And the community itself has always been very helpful from what I can see. People need to take a breath and relax, it is frustrating if your site has to now undergo some reconstruction, but in the end I trust that the Dev's want to make it even better.

Glad to hear it! I had the same sentiments in the big reforge discussion, but I feel I got a little long winded and people didn't take the time to read it.

Thanks for speaking up :). I agree that this is one of the best online communities that I've ever been a part of, and I hope we don't lose that!

I, like Gaaran, was long-winded on another thread. Bottom line, this has been the Best community I have ever been a part of, and I understand both sides. We all just need to help each other through this, best we can. Be nice to people....

    Excellent thread.

I am here to help where I can. I can't help with the CSS stuff but I can offer my Project Management Professional skills to the Reforge team to help with communication.
