How do you reveal a map in parts? I'm thinking of a dungeon crawl, where parts of the map are not visible until the player characters have visited that part of the dungeon?
In what context are you referring? Are you using dungeon tiles? A battle board? Do you mean on the Portal here?
If you're referring to on the table, then what I do is I figure out the layout ahead of time, then erase/dismantle it, and draw it in or put the tiles out as the party arrives uncovers each room. Basically, map it out once ahead of time, and if possible have two copies of the map. This just occurred to me, but if you're using tiles, you could put it together and take a picture of the completed dungeon. Then take it apart :). Hope that was helpful.
Stephen, there's definitely no "fog of war" for maps here on Obsidian Portal. If you want to reveal maps pieces at a time, you'd have to re-upload them or upload them one piece at a time, I think.
Yeah, if you mean here on the Portal, you can only post whole maps. It's not really interactive. What I would do is use like Gimp or another image editing program with layers, and cover the whole map, and then upload the map in stages, if that's what you want to do.
I use OP for everything but maps. I use Roll20 for any maps, as well as the fog of war effects

Thanks. Does anyone know if Roll20 allow you to 'fog-of-war' the map differently for different characters? My party split up, and they are exploring different (overlapping) areas.
Have you looked at MapTool? This tool allows for lighting effects (like fog of war, and pc-carried torches).
