Wiki for Multiple Interconnected campaigns.

Hey all, I'm excited to use Obsidian Portal, but one feature I had assumed would be here actually isn't. namely, that there doesn't seem to be a way (to my knowledge) to use a wiki to keep the wiki relevant connecting the info for multiple campaigns if one plans to run a succession of games in a constant universe (the wiki giving relevant into, as well as info as to events that occurred in past campaigns such that players need not have participated in past games to understand what has transpired and how that might affect the present) is there a way (other than simply copy pasting pages) to keep say, each successive wiki connected with old data? is there a mass transport system that allows you to connect your wiki's?

also another short but unrelated question is are quickjump links (like the ones used in the actual wikipedia, that break up the article) available to use on OP?

What people have typically been doing for that is instead of creating a new campaign for a campaign they create a new campaign for a setting. Then they just use their homepage on the wiki to link to the different campaigns that are running from that same setting (and they all use the same wiki).

can you give me an example, I'm not entirely sure I understand, though what you are saying sounds very promising.

I think he's referring to the method Arsheesh uses?

For example, his main campaign setting is "Age of Legends" http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/age-of-legends

and he has another game that runs in a subsection of that campaign - "Tales of the Darkmoon Vale" http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/tales-of-darkmoon-vale

Yeah, those are examples of what I was talking about.

I just noticed your second question too, are you talking about links that take you to the middle of a page (even the same one)?

I wish there was an easier way to do this, I am having the same issue. I know nothing about CSS and don't really have time to get into doing what these example one did (which look great btw). I guess I could just make a new campaign and copy and past all my relevant wiki topics and headers over to the new one for my new players. My issue is I am having two new players join but want them to join not knowing all the stuff the other players already know or have accumulated as knowledge.

You could tediously go through each page one at a time making them secrets between yourself and your old players, leaving the main bulk of the page blank for everyone else (aka your new players).

It's a bit of extra work but we've been using basic HTML to create links btwn the separate pages. BlackBlood, I've been wanting the same thing you're asking about for some time. I'm no web developer, but I can't imagine it being that hard. Perhaps with the kickstarter going atm we can see linked campaigns in the future. It'd be awesome to use simple textile to hit pages on one campaign from another...probably that you're a part of instead of any, but that'd be enough for me.
