On-Line Table Top RPG Sessions?

Not sure if this is a thread yet. My friends and I are scattered across the world and it has been too many years since we've gotten our table top RPG action on. Anyone know of any good sites or programs to assist in providing a DM and players with a good tool set for players to communicate to each other and the DM? I'm thinking Skype with integrated D&D tools.

I'm playing Shadowrun on Google+ and it works quite well. So far we haven't encountered any major technical problems and it's easy to use. There's an integrated chat and it does pretty much everything that Skype does. No D&D tools, though, although you can integrate Google Docs and one player in my SR group has come up with a dice simulator for SR based on a Excel sheet.
Of course, there's always http://invisiblecastle.com/ as well for rolling online.

I know people here who use this and are relatively satisfied, and it is free.

You can also try http://tabletopforge.com. It uses google+ hangouts so you get video and it's free.

We use Skype and "Roll20":http://roll20.net/ with great success. Roll20 is my favorite of the virtual tabletops- whispers and text chat, music, and the ability to use your own pics and maps make it very useful.

I'm going to second KVP on the Roll20.net suggestion. I just recently discovered that and it's very easy to use. It's still in the early stages, so new features are being added all the time. Also, the free account is quite good! It has built in support for use with Google Hangouts, though I find that hangouts sucks up a lot of space with it's bits and pieces. It also uses a service called "tokbox" but I've found that pretty unreliable compared to hangouts.

I've been using MapTool from RPTool.net since March 2008 with great success. Learning curve to get started, but much more functional than most systens out there.
Tried roll20 and just doesn't have the functionality of MapTool.
However, if I was starting out I wouldn't know what I was missing, and roll20 seems fine for a basic game.

Gotta go with roll20.net. You can use skype or google hangouts right along side it with minimal effort. I find often times corralling my group is more difficult than using the software.

My group uses skype and maptools personally. I am the only one far away and the rest of my gaming group is still in the same spot in California.

We've been using EpicTable for a little over a year now, and it's been out of beta and in production now since about GenCon. It's a very simple system, and if you know windows, you can pretty much get up and running on this in minutes. Very friendly on cost, one purchase of a license is all a group needs. The developer is always busy implementing users ideas too.
