I've seen this comment here and there on the forums, but I wanted to start a dialogue about it with you guys (and of course if there is anything upcoming we don't know about, please let us know, those of you in the know :).

What I'm talking about is the main page of Obsidian Portal. I think the new design looks really great, it's slick and provides a great look at what OP actually is. However, what I think it's missing is the sense of being a community. Perhaps that's not what OP is supposed to be about, but I've found that's been one of the best parts of it. All of us, sharing our campaigns and stories with other people who are actually interested in hearing about it.

The front page used to have a blog feed, which showcased the featured campaign of the month, and had recent updates and a random featured campaign on the side bar. I found a lot of the campaigns on my favorites list that way. That was the draw to the site for me, and I don't think I'm alone in that.

I guess my tl;dr is that I think those features should be brought back to the main page, to be used as a selling point for getting new users to join up, not just being able to track your campaign. I wouldn't mind hearing if there are any plans to do anything like this in the future.

(It occurs to me that is possible that they aren't able to do this because so many of us use images we find online with a "copyright belongs to the artist, we just like it, but we'll take it down if they want us to" in our pages and banners. I could understand that being an issue, in which case, the changes totally make sense.)
