dimension door as an attack??? wow. That's "plane" hard to comprehend! I mean, that's a "gate way" to a "hole other dimension" of thinking... Ok.... enough of the bad puns. Wow, Robert, that's some pretty interesting stuff. I might come calling with something I'm working on.

    Robert

Your mention of the Dimension Door attack reminded me of a very effective monster attack that occurred in the First Quest of Shimring - 12 Arrow Demons in three groups of 4.
Group 1 - Demon A: DD in, Demons B+C: fire arrows, Demon D: DD out. Group 1 alternates with Group 2 and Group 3 is used as reserve to fill in any killed or seriously wounded members of the other two teams. The encounter lasted through two entire sessions of gaming time and was pretty epic!

My dimension door attack was all about positioning. Touch a guy then port to a place where only my square had free space and his was... I dunno, a tree. It created a violent NO! in game logic and depending on the situation did anywhere from 1-3d6 of get-the-f-out-of-my-square damage. At one point I was in a dungeon, grabbed the orc gaurd and DD to a space where I was holding him in a wall, he was forced out, and I used all my spell slots to quicken etc to repeatedly DD him into this wall. It was pretty brutal.

I could write some fluff for someones page probably and give credit to the artist on my page. If someone is willing to do more than my banner I will post a link to your page on one of my pages as well.

Oh dear, I fear that this wonderful page has sunk! No work requests for ages! I hereby am submitting a request for HELP!

I'm looking for some supernatural stories (fluff) with either covert or overt supernatural themes. Covert being more in the "Dog attack" = Werewolf, "Haunting" = Haunting, "Kidnapping" = Mad crazy faerie on the loose. Things like that. Overt, well, being the opposite of Covert...

I'm just looking to add some flavor and potential plot-hooks to my campaign, and I figured I'd try and tap this very excellent resource of talent and craziness.

In return, I can offer everlasting gratitude and some gnarly photo manipulation skills. I'm no artist, but give me some source files or inspiration and I can do some pretty neat stuff. Group portraits is something I've done in the past with some pretty decent success, as Master Wollet could attest.

To add to Rase's post, as the coder extraordinaire of Dark Queen of the West, if you need help with coding (provided it's not a whole site, or too insane), I'd be willing to add that to the list of things Rase and I will exchange for fluff writing.

Rase, are you looking for modern urban fantasy supernatural stuff? My Beyond The Veil campaign is in haitus right now but I'd be happy to send you some stuff I've used if you PM me. One of the very successful adventures: kids start going missing in New York and then turning up the next day *almost* the same as they'd been. Turns out the Winter Court had made an appearance after many centuries absence, in Forest Park/Foest Hills. The bigger problem - the vamps of Cypress Hills see this as an encroachment on their territory. Can the team convince the Fae to give back the changelings and negotiate a truce before a full-scale Veil War breaks out?

    killervp, you bumper, you.

Hey, is the Plot Club still active at all? Thanks to killervp, I looked at this thread (for the first time). I think Plot Club is a cool idea.

Plot Club stopped having activity almost 1 year ago, as did its founder. I would be willing to resuscitate the idea, if there is interest from the community. I always felt it was a great idea, but it needs participation. If there is enough response on this thread I will make a new one!

Hey, I have an idea. Lets start a new thread... er... Plot Club. I will do it presently, and refer back to this thread for details.
We can see what bubbles to the top.

Just remember the first rule of Plot Club...

Work Exchange: Underdark Society for PROMISE of Tech Help

I would like to offer an integrated Underdark Drow Society in return for a PROMISE of future help with TECH stuff, especially later SITE IMPROVEMENTS and CSS advice.

The work I have completed was built as background information for a character I no longer play, and as it does not fit into my future "Midgard":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/mysteria plans, I am hoping somebody developing a campaign involving Drow and The Underdark, can use it.

It is an inter-related WIKI system incorporating THREE Drow Cities, a Duergar city and an open template for a Dwarven City. All are inter-related, using Drow Names and English translations, and each section includes paragraphs on Politics, Magic, Religion, Trade, and Society, using the main HOUSES of The Drow, and inclusive of important NPCs with both their DROW names and English translations. The WIKI also has links to each page with relevant simple coding.

If anyone is interested in this, let me know and I can send you a link. If you become even more interested, I could also send you WORD DOCUMENTS for each page with all the “Coded” text written in, so you can slot it neatly into your campaign if you like.

THIS WOULD BE IDEAL FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF CSS/TEXTILE/HTML WHO COULD HELP ME OUT LATER ON AND WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM A COMPREHENSIVE UNDERDARK INFORMATION BANK FOR THEIR CAMPAIGN.

P.S: The same deal is on offer for other pitches e.g. Promo Video, Original Artwork, etc.

    Hi Savannah

At this stage I don't really know but probably coding stuff. At the moment I have set up a basic look for my site, which I am happy with, and am filling mainly with text, but when I want to start making aesthetic changes later I will probably be wondering what code to use to do certain things e.g. tables, placement of icons, new titles, diagrams, etc. To be honest, at this stage I don't really know. Sorry to be so vague.

That's fair. I'm just asking because I want to make sure it's something I can do before I offer to do so. Since I'm not in urgent need of a drow society, maybe the best thing to do would be to wait until you know what you need, then let me know. Of course, if someone else comes along in that time who's sure they can do it, they can have it.

    *Throws hat into the ring*.

I'm a technical writer by trade. So if you need help with fluff or bumph, let me know and I'd be glad to help. I'll happily trade characters for characters (I make one for you, you make one for me sort of thing), ditto for items, background and/or plots.

If you're not into writing, I've got lots of practice editing other people's work - and am willing to trade that skill for help with art, coding, and general work to improve the look, depth, breadth, and appearance of my current campaign.

PM me if this interests you and I'll try to help.

Hey Twiggs, I could help with textile based stuff (including tables and creative shifting around), but I suspect I already have access to that integrated Underdark community of which you speak. Also, I have about 30 reams of links to public-domain or otherwise not-copyrighted images, most of which I've yet to find a use for.

Looking ahead, I can already see that I'm going to need/really-really-want custom artwork, help figuring out & implementing a formal (i.e. decorative) layout, among other things.

    Hey Beaumains

Thanks for the offer. You absolutely SUSPECT right about the UNDERDARK stuff. And my own ART is probably not even ART, but I will always be happy to look at anything you do and give an "AESTHETIC EYE"
