Introduction (The Ferdiad Cycle)

Hi!

I'm new to all of this OP stuff as I just happened to stumble on it about a month ago. "Pretty neat, maybe I'll give it a try and see if I could get out some of these ideas that have been bouncing in my head for a couple of years"

So far I'm sold! Organizing my articles and linking them into new bits of information is just great and really helps me to invent new stuff as I go along. Why didn't I find this sooner!?

So like I said I've been tossing this idea of combining old school 80's d&d (ADD 2nd edition forever, baby!) with the historical celts while using the Pathfinder rules. It's going to be pretty low-fantasy so no dwarves, elves or seven-headed dragons popping from behind every corner. Our gaming group has been kinda dd 3.5 oriented so I want to up the ante by not only upgrading into (most exellent) Pathfinder but creating a very, very detailed world surpasing our former campaigns. I've been creating the Ferdiad Cycle's wiki for about a week now, trying to keep the articles compact but informative and being very careful with the pictures I'm using (Elmore/Easley/Caldwell/McBride all the way!).

I'd very much appreciate any feedback on this (getting that from my players is like getting water from a stone). I should also point that it's far from being even nearly complete, I'm really hopelessly bad with anything computer-related and as English is not my primary language expect some typos and errors in grammar (haven't proofread it yet, sorry!). I intend to give a bareboned version of everything until the PCs explore the world more. The place they start in is called Aenoria so please check out that and Cerns - the local people. If everything goes well every place should get an article as long as those in time.

Well... that's about it I guess. Thanks and can't wait for your comments!

Welcome Aenor! Here is a link to the "Ferdiad Cycle":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/52444
You use a large monitor- the sidebar will not be legible to anyone on a standard laptop, just so you know. Great looking start!

    Welcome to Obsidian Portal, Aenor.

Ferdiad Cycle is a nice looking site and I like your basic premise. I love the Celts and I love Pathfinder too! I can attest to the fact that KillerVP is right about your navigation sidebar.

    See you through the Portal!

Welcome to the Portal Aenor! And despite what you say, you've done a lovely job formatting your site (aside from the sidebar issue: it's obscured for me as well). Very nice choice on your image use. Your site is crisp and clean as well. Great job all around.

    Cheers,

Thanks for pointing that out. Took some effort but it's fixed now since "Well don't use a laptop then!" propably wouldn't have earned me any new friends...

    Welcome, Aenor!

I agree with the rest - so far, you have laid out your site nicely. The images are very nice as well.

    Well done!

Ahhhh very reminiscent of my old campaign. I ran a Celtic / Irish mythos inspired campaign for about a decade. http://www.eyrurpg.com/old_site/ if you are interested. That site only really details the first 2-3 years of the campaign, the rest were never really recorded anywhere online but the basic history, deities, world building is all there.

Looks like a great campaign shaping up! I'll keep an eye on it!

Well, we finally managed to start the campaign - only two or three months later than I had hoped. Better late than even later.

Anyway, the site's been updated a LOT. There's a lot of new pages in the wiki plus new characters, items and the first two adventure logs. Thought or comments anyone?

Time for a tad shameless self promotion. Three sessions behind, lots of new updates and (miraculously) one of the players has written extensive adventure logs (although the newest is WIP). Thoughts ...anyone?

    Hi Aenor,

A very good looking campaign! The homepage and wiki main page are great (I love the tree!), they are many informations well laid out (it's clear & bright & charming), and the adventures seems to have a good start.

I'm also looking a 2ed old feeling with my campaigns, and I have to tell you a big "bravo"!

    Hi Aenor

The adventure logs are cool - nice pics and nice layout and also good to have the links. As I said on your comments page, you are lucky to have such a recorder of events as Magnus. Oh, and .... "Yo! Brownies!"

Thank for the feedback twiggyleaf. You're right, I'm blessed to have a player that keeps such a detailed record of the campaign. It really helps me to stay motivated. Unfortunately he's a busy guy so the logs are two sessions behind the "schedule" and the plot is just beginning to get more complicated!

Sorry for the delay! The last post swell into a very detailed journal entry, but it is now finished. I'll try to push more effort on trying to catch up with the schedule.

Also, I thought that I should first finish the posts before uploading them on the page. That way there would be no unfinished journal entries. Any thoughts on that?

Please feel free to comment the journal entries too. I'd love more feedback! It would also keep me motivated ;)
