My vote is for the new log video "Visual News of All the World":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/cthulhusupremusest/wikis/visual-news-of-all-the-world by Frank Sirmarco and his great "Cthulu Supremus Est Campaign":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/cthulhusupremusest
Makes my efforts look like a joke... Great job Frank!
Anyone got any others?

Wow. Thanks so much, killervp. I appreciate it.

I'm a bit of a romantic, so I still go with the old standby - I believe that "Gaaran":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/melekar was the first person to have a intro video for their campaign, so that'll always be my favorite.

Yeah, I'm with killer Farnk. Gaaran's video was ground-breaking, and still holds up as one of the best videos on the Portal, but yours is my favorite.

    Cheers,

Well, so far Dudes I am both with you and against you....
With you, in that my award also goes to Frank Sirmarco,
but against you in that I nominate "In Search of Xnaaki":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/cthulhusupremusest/adventure-log/in-search-of-xnaaki
(the tone of the musical track just slams me right into Lovecraft's dark world)

I'm not sure who has the best, but I cheerfully nominate "my own":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/into-the-lightless-depths as one of the worst.

In all seriousness, though, I think Cthulhu Supremus Est was the first OP campaign I saw with a video and it's stuck with me as an example of something to shoot for ever since.

Come on now Frank, don't be bashful, you know as well as we do that your videos (and your site as a whole) rocks the house!

Frank, can I ask you how you got that newsreel juddering effect? That really sold the video right there.

Arsheesh, I'm very proud of Cthulhu Supremus Est and the videos, in particular.

jacobkosh, I use VideoPad Video Editor, which is a free video editing software you can find online. For a free program, it's got a lot nice features you can't find on Windows Movie Maker. One of the free effects plugins is MSU Old Cinema, which adds noise, scratches, and a shaky camera effect to your movies. I highly recommend downloading it and giving it a try.

Excellent! Thank you so much. I've been in the market recently for something with more power than WMM but maybe not quite as in-depth (or expensive) as After Effects and VideoPad looks like it might do the trick.

    jacobkosh:

Just a warning, WMM is superior when it comes to panning and zooming. If you do lots of that in your videos, you'll find VideoPad lacking. However, VideoPad does allow you to overlay video and provides multiple sound tracks. I'm toying with both programs to see if there's a way to utilize their best elements together.

I really like Sony Vegas for my video editing.... There is also a cheaper version out there called Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

I've just added a new Intro Video to the "site":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/cthulhusupremusest

This one deviates from the silent film layout of previous videos.

Your input, as always, is welcome.

Frank, that is the best one yet!

Trully chilling and nice modern horror movie editing style. Love that recurring screechy sound!

There are a lot of good videos on the site. However, the default code to add a video isn't iPad compatible.

You can fix that by simply adding a table around the video.

    For example.

    Changing

--p(oembed). "More troops noble leader": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ko_rfpC3Eo

    To

    More troops noble leader

Of course, I have to say that another magnificent contender is Themazecontroller's "INTRO VIDEO":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/bad-wrong-fun to his excellent campain, "BAD WRONG FUN!" The video is credited to N Lloyd but it has excellent music and loads of REAL animation that Harryhausen would have been proud of.

I had meant to mention this one before but couldn't remember which site it belonged to.

    Bravo, Themazecontroller
