We, my whole group of 7 and myself, have been using this throughout the closed beta. It had some rough spots in the beginning, but works great now! What we love about Roll20 is its ease of use. It has replaced multiple windows- we had been using skype for video, google chat for messaging, and a map program. Now all we use is OP and Roll20- 2 very useful tools! Our game is online only, and both are now essential. I highly recommend you check out Roll20 (and of course, Haste).

Hey Killervp...have you ever used the WOTC VT? if so can you make a comparison...I know you play pathfinder. Is the Roll20 system neutral?

Roll20 is totally system neutral, and 300% less wonky than the WotC VT!

My group will hopefully be testing out Roll20 here soon. We're hoping it works well for everyone since we always seem to run into some issue with either Skype or Maptools everytime we play. After messing around with it I think my favorite part is going to be the jukebox. We used to incorporate music back when we were in college, but that got pretty challenging since we all live across the country now.

@Dlaporte7271 Importing your own maps is super easy

@Dark_Hunter87 I'm with you there, loving the jukebox feature a lot.

Yeah...I've taken a look at it now...looks really cool...I have been playing 4e so the WOTC VT was a natural fit...easy to import characters...all the calculations already done etc. Looks like we are going to drop that system and move on to something else anyway so Roll20 looks even better now. Really like that you can grab images from anywhere...even linked me back to the OP!

I second both of DreadGazebo's comments- importing own maps is a drag/drop then pull to size- way easy!
The jukebox is awesome! My group mostly uses the ocean to transit, so they got some days of quiet ocean, followed by a giant storm. It really added to the feel of the game!

I am messing with it now, but I will try this with my group. We are all local and sit in front of each other but I think having the visual element as well as audio will keep them interested and engaged. On top of that, handing out confidential player info will be MUCH smoother now.

    I am hooked!

I have not yet run any online games but have always been checking out the various online tools with a view to running something in the future. After listening to the lastest version of Haste (which I listen to every week without fail) I checked it out and immediately decided it was the best one I had yet seen. I have already signed up to it and opened a Campaign, even though I have not plans as yet for an online game. But I hope to be able to practice some techniques on it for a future game next year.

Kudos to Haste and to OP in general for bringing such a cutting-edge yet user-friendly tool to our attention!
