Hello all,

This week I decided to take the leap and create a campaign portal here for my ongoing Call of Cthulhu game. That was a snap! I added some text to the homepage, some NPC's, and all was going well.

Then I wanted a nice banner...

Then I started looking at what VERY cool things other GM's had done with their portals, and I had to have a nice background image...

And now I have a project; I'm on a mission to improve my portal little by little. Your community is extremely helpful and encouraging (and are willing to answer a lot of questions), and it's a pleasure to be here! Thanks for making this a warm place and I expect that my players will be thrilled as time goes on.

    Yep, this seems like a great bunch to hang out with. Between creating this campaign site and running my game, though, I think that my family will soon be rebelling!

    I've taken a look at Frank's cthulhu site (and also your God...Rebuilt site) for inspiration. And I've actually PM'd you with a question; I hope that you don't mind.

    Welcome to the Portal. I'm sure you will enjoy embellishing your campaign on this site. Lovecraft was such a powerful imagination that I'm sure you will find many inspirations throughout this site. Even my own campaign has the power of Cthulhu written into its basic stitchings. Frank's site mentioned above is very cool but another one I might suggest is "CthulhuTech - Once Were Men":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/cthulhutech-once-were-men This one is set in a future world but there are still many great ideas.

    Hello Twiggyleaf and Arsheesh,

    Thanks for your suggestions and guidance in starting my campaign site. Ugh -- little did I realize when I started my portal that instead of being attacked by Cthulhu cultists, I'm being attacked by OP punnists... :)

    The fun thing about setting up an Obsidian Portal site is that it exercises all of the areas of the brain: one part technologist, one part gamer, one part creative artist, and one part layout designer. Where else can a person have such fun?

    I've been examining your own CoL campaign for ideas, and am very impressed with your table of contents for Adventure Logs and your Wiki! You've made it very easy for a reader to figure out what is happening at a summary level and where to go to access the detailed info. I can see that I have a lot of work to do, but your portal (and a number of others) provides a nice goldmine of ideas.
