Nice to meet you all,
I've been on this site for a little while but have yet to introduce myself. Just waiting to build my campaign site a little so I could get some feedback.
My friends and I have just started playing D&D 4e in Nabari, Japan. This is the first time playing for a few and my first time "really" DMing. It's been a really enjoyable ride so far and I'm really diggin' the DM seat ;)
To get the feel for things I've been using an adventure from the DM kit with a few of my own touches. It's been taking a while to get though and am always looking for ways to improve the gaming experience.
This site has been really useful for collecting my thoughts and putting the information out there for the players to look at. It's still a work in progress and there's still I'd like to do to make it look nicer.
Please check it out and let me know what you think :) Things you like, things you don't like, etc.
Check it out here: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/nabarians
Thanks so much!! Hope to have a long relationship with this community :D
Yoroshiku ne!!

Featured Campaign of the Month - August 2011
Your site is looking great for a beginning site. I recommend checking out some of the campaign of the month stuff to see how amazing you can really get a site to look and even some interesting ideas from their adventure logs to to start your own story. Ascetically I would recommend getting a background image for your site as it will make it look a whole lot better and is quite simple to do (check out Chainsaw's FAQ here on the forums for more details). Also trolling the Review my Campaign thread can give you some great ideas as well.
Now about that brain picking. My campaign is an L5R (legend of the five rings) setting. L5R is a setting based on a westernized combination of eastern asian cultures and history but more then anything on japanese culture (it is a samurai game) but all of my players (and I) are about as white american as you can get. Although I am history buff and a martial artist its still not quite the same thing. If you know any cool trivia about saumrai culture or some great pictures send me a PM. And as I mentioned everyone here is awesome so do not feel bad about asking for just about anything...someone on here will have an idea and be able to help you.
Good Luck!

I've looked over your sites as well and got a lot of great inspiration!
As for different D&D rulesets; I played AD&D once a long long time ago, 3e quite a few times, I missed 3.5 but I see it's highly praised, and now 4e. Actually, although it has gotten a lot of flack, I'm really enjoying 4e. I'm a little sad that 5e is on its way just as I'm getting into 4e (and have invested quite a bit of cash into buying books, etc). I'm pretty flexible to rulesets in general though, grew up also playing ShadowRun and Vampire. Even considering to give Pathfinder a try someday. Although, it's a little hard finding regular RP groups living abroad, so that's why I'm the DM. If I want to play, I need to sucker the nearby foreign community into playing with me.
As for any information the L5R campaign; Really nice site by the way. I'm not really familiar with that system but I've browsed the "Book of Five Rings" by Miamoto Musashi. I guess you could try watching a lot of Akira Kurosawa films, read the book Hagakure (way of the samurai), and "Ghost Dog" is a pretty great Samurai film as well (although it takes place in modern New Jersey). Also, if there's ninja involved in L5R, it's always fun to doing an Iga and Kouga Romeo & Juliet type story.
Also, is there a way to edit sigs on forum posts? Or do you all just copy and past your page links every time?
Thanks for everything!! I'll try to be an asset to help build upon this great community (^_^)v

I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
Since I'm new, I'm always worried about how things will unfold and how much/what I should prepare. I'm hoping the more I DM the more I'll be familiar with how to make up things on the fly.
Just played again last weekend so I'll have the new episode up soon (^_^)v
