Hey there. My name is Jesse, with the online handle of Turncoat (Don't worry, I'm actually very loyal!) I am 22 years old, Canadian, and a longtime Dungeon Master. I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons ever since I was 10, when a friend was given the 3rd Edition Starter Kit, and we proceeded to spend an entire trip playing the game. Over my years as a DM, I have sunk more hours than I care to mention into a setting that has evolved into something (that I very much hope is) unique.

I am a writer and theatre junkie, and am just now entering university. I bartend on the side, and I am a great believer in the amazing power of liquor.

Ever since discovering Obsidian Portal I have been in love with its features, and am fighting a battle to get my players more involved with the online aspect of our campaign. It's not easy.

Thanks for the greetings, and thank you killervp for the link to that thread. By the way, I checked out your campaign, and it looks like a lot of fun. I've never played a campaign with a serious amount of levity in it, my setting is a pretty grim place, but it looks pretty sweet.

    Welcome to the Portal.

What's your favorite drink to mix?

I like making, and incidentally tasting, Long Island Iced Tea. That's the 5 whites (white tequila, white rum, gin, vodka, triple sec), house sour and a splash of cola. If it's well made (and I make them good), you're looking at a 3 ounce 40% drink that tastes like lemonade. A drink that's a little more complicated to make, but always gets rave reviews, is my variation of the Fashionista martini.

Hey there Turncoat, welcome to the Portal. You know, I could really go for a good Sazerac right about now. I love my whiskey and generally drink it straight, but I'm a sucker for a good Rye mixed drink every now and again. Sadly, having just moved to New Zealand I've come to discover that prices on alcohol here are criminal! Anyway, nuf' about that. Glad to see a new face here at the Portal, I think you'll find this the community here to be pretty special.

    Cheers,

Welcome to OP, I think as your players get to see more and more of what OP has to offer it will become easier to get them involved. Still player involvement is the biggest curse we all suffer. It can be difficult. I added huge player incentives for posting on OP and that seems to be working well.

Whatever you do on OP, I hope you have fun. Goodluck and if you need help just ask. Many of us are willing to answer questions and share out insights.

Hi Turncoat and welcome to the Portal.

I echo what many others said in terms of player involvement but hope you manage to get THE MAX!
As for Long Island Iced Tea, well I just about lived on that stuff when I stayed in Taiwan. Nowadays I am more restrained and tend to stick to simple whisky or a nice frothy glass of beer.

Is it criminal that the extent of my mixed drinks tends to be rum and coke or gin and tonic (heavy on the lime)? Anyway, welcome. as one of the active players that helped with all the worldbuilding and design for my campaign, it's tough having people only be involved at the table.

    Best of luck to you.
