Looking for game in Portland

I'm a newbie looking to get started playing any pen and paper rpg. Bi weekly at least. I am available Friday from 4pm to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9pm. I'm highly motivated and eager to learn. I have convinced my girlfriend to play too if I find a group. But her schedule fluctuates so that might not workout. If not she will just hangout and watch while we do our thing sometimes.

    Erm, you do realize there is more than one Portland, right? Your state (assuming you're in the US, country if not) would be helpful.

    I think there's actually a Portland in every state. The biggest two are in Oregon and Maine, but I did not know there was a country called Portland...

    Mikeinpdx, your response to Savannah was "whispered" meaning only he (and forum moderators like me) can see it. However, since I take it that you meant this reply to be public, I'll just relay your response to the rest of the forum:

    Mike lives in Portland Oregon (my old home town!)

    Oh, and while the "pdx" in your name was a dead giveaway to me, I'm not sure that out-of-staters would be clued in by this. Best of luck finding a campaign in our neck of the woods; shouldn't bee too hard I reckon.

    I'm from near Portland, Oregon, but I didn't parse your name correctly and missed the pdx. Not to mention that people in Portland, Maine (and other Portlands) might not know the significance of the pdx. Also, regardless of whether *you* think of Portland, Oregon, as "The Portland", I'm quite sure that people in all other Portlands think of *their* Portland as "The Portland". In sum, I was merely trying to help you find a group by suggesting that you specify your state, and I still suggest that you specify your state in the future, as there are many reasons why leaving it off could lead to confusion.

    In fact I meant for it to be private since it was kind of a smart alecky response.

    Portland is Portland, anwhere else can be Portland, Me or maybe Portland, Az. But not Portland. We are our own enclave in a republican/conservative wasteland.

    Mike, perhaps we should clarify it thus, "Portlandia", a place where chickens roam free, bikers rule the open roads, and young people go to retire!
