Doing a Play by Post

Well I'm working on doing my first play by post game ever, I was wondering how people deal with the combat in a play by post since you can't be there in person to use mini's and not every one is on at the same time, so needless to say I'm extremely curious. I know perhaps some may use a VTT but at the moment I'm at a loss.

You post then wait and leave a lot to the imagination. It's more fluid and less rigid when playing PbP.

Good example of one I'm playing in: "Curse of the Crimson Throne":http://s11.zetaboards.com/CotCT/index/
Good example of one I created: "Theoretical Dungeon":http://s11.zetaboards.com/Theoretical_Dungeon/index/

Typically the resolutions are all made by the GM, but there are other ways to resolve actions as well. Typically it helps if the players come up with a few contingencies if they can plan that far ahead.
