Best Game ever!!!

Having played RPG's since 1978 I have played the gambit of good and bad games. For me the most interesting and exciting game we ever played was a game by BTRC called Timelords. The setting was a group of gamers sitting down to a game of Dungeons and Dragons when the twenty sided die starts to glow and then a wave of energy shoots forth transporting us and everthing with 10 meters of the die to 12th century England. We actually pulled out a tape measure and the only gear players started with was what was within 10 meters of that damned die. Lucky for the party I had a pistol in a nightstand plus a dozen or so swords, axes and other weapons in my appartment. As the world we ended up in was twisted by somekind of Cthulhu manifestion. We barely survived, mostly by running.

The adventures of playing ourselves traveling through time and to alternate dimensions was both exciting, fun, and frustrating too. It was quite a slap in the face when we actually generated characters and discovered our true worth on paper. lol The game had a system in place for figuring out your real world attributes and skills. Quite fun.

So what about you. What was the best game you ever played and why? I am not talking about game system but rather the most memorable and enjoyable campaign or game session.

    Lots of good nights, but, first thing that comes to mind was a D&D game, your standard crew. I felt the need, that evening, to emulate each monster. "I'm helping!" I would tell the DM, as he gave me another filthy look. When the giant bats came is when I shined. Took each hand, faced the palm towards me, thumbs interlocked, then proceeded to have my hands "flap" as a bat would, on my face, neck and hair, screaming "BAT OH GOD BAT" the whole time.

    This proved too much for the party - I think there was beer involved - but, this stupidity nexus I had created put on the game-brake for a good hour as we devolved into puerile snorting creatures.

    Great stories all

    Fivegears, we had an adventure of utter mayhem in which there was no antagonist or treasure but was awesome none the less. I dont even remember the game system but it was set in the modern day. Two male players decided to have a water balloon battle against a sorority house. The battle was so intense we gamed for 16 hours straight. My god, the adventure was non-stop action, no one died, no one got hurt, and we still laugh about it today. Your bat night reminds me alot of that night.
