New to Obsidian Portal but I like it. I have been gaming since 1978 and don't forsee stopping till I am old and senile in a nursing home. Hopefully I can impress the nurses with tales of my glorious deeds. lol

I am in the process of developing a new Star Trek campaign set in the year 2390. The character will play convicts sentenced to a penal colony in the Romulan Star Empire. They will have to navigate the dangers of the penal colony as they attempt to find a way out. If they escape the galaxy is the limit. Any thoughts, suggestions, or ideas will be much appreciate. Check it out at http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/star-trek-late-night and fan me if you like what you see.

If you live in the York/Baltimore corridor and want to play send me a message. I have four regular players that I have been gaming with for the past 30+ years but we are always open to new players.

    Hi StephenWollett

Welcome to the portal. I'm sure you will find this a very amenable place in which to converse. I also have been gaming a while (since 1981) but have mainly stayed with the granddaddy (D&D). As for suggestions, I'm sure you will come up with plenty. I would just advice you have a Vulcan as science officer, a Scot as engineer and an old cynic as a Medical Officer. (Even in Star Trek, I am OLDSKOOL! However, I do also like Picard and Archer.)

Good luck in that nursing home!

Its nice to see an old gamer. In my neck of the woods, there are very few of us left still playing. Thanks for the welcome.

I always enjoyed technowizardry (weird tech with magic elements, or some call it steampunk) -- especially when used sparingly in a Tech RPG. Or it could just be tech that is so far advanced that it could be magic. Basically, find a really cool tech weapon or device of some sort, and tweak it in 3 ways. 1- add a 'magical' effect or power to it, 2- add a random element to every usage of it, and 3- make it very difficult to figure out how to use it, complete with weird emissions, noises, lights, shocks, smells, side effects.. you name it.
