I'm not sure what I'm supposed to say here. I play dnd (3.5 and 4.0) and the Hero system (fantasy and scifi). I'm big into comics, H.P. Lovecraft, Steampunk, Tesla, mudding (off roading in jeeps and trucks with the intention of getting yourself and the vehicle covered), rock climbing, Star Trek, Dr. Who. basically if its nerdy I at least know enough to hold a conversation about it.

I am a Dungeon Master and have been one for the last two years. My campaigns tend to be over the top with the balance of reality resting in your hands. (Last Campaign they were dragon riders). I'm always looking for new pen and paper games to play and people to play them with.

Oh, and I'm a 20 year old female. SO, um hi.

Hello, let me be the first to welcomeyou to the Portal Eevee! In reading your interests, I couldn't help but think "one of these things is not like the others." Can you guess which one? :) That last campaign of your sounds pretty epic (sounds like Pern).

If you've got any questions about setting up a wiki, or anything else for that matter, please feel free to ask, we're an overly friendly bunch that loves to help. I'm sure there will be many posts following this sharing the same sentiment :). So again welcome, and I hope you enjoy your stay here in Awesomeland!

Thanks for the welcome. The Wiki is easy enough. I've actually had the account for over a year...just haven't touched it since last summer :/

I suppose when I said setting up the wiki, I meant if you want to delve into the obsession like myself and some of the others around here. Some of my favorites are:

    "Wyrmshadow":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/wyrmshadow
    "The Age of Legends":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/age-of-legends
And of course, my own page: "The Melekar Chronicles":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/melekar

Good on you for finally coming out of the shadows, I think you'll find some fun people around here :).

Hey there, Eevee. Welcome to Obsidian Portal. We're kind of in the same boat. I've had my account for a while but I just started using it a few days ago when I posted the thread "A new challenger approaches!". I'm a newb to the Portal too. We can be newb-buddies! Anyways, welcome to OP! I think you'll like it here. It's a great resource and the community is awesome. Everyone has been extremely kind and helpful! If you need anything, just give a holler. As Gaaran said, welcome to Awesomeland.

There's not much there yet, considering the fact that I just started working on it, but you can check out/keep an eye on my campaign. "Geneseed Campaign Setting":http://obsidianportal.com/campaigns/geneseed.

    Hello, Eevee!

    Welcome to the portal!

If there's anything I can do for you (help with planning a character, a quick sketch, help with your wiki, etc) let me know.

I am to GM of Wyrmshadow, incidentally. Thanks, Gaaran, for the plug!

Hey Eevee welcome to the forums! Looks like you've already met several of the usual suspects here. At any rate, like Gaaran and Duskreign mentioned, feel free to tap into the resources of this wonderful community. Look forward to seeing you around the forums.

    Cheers,

Welcome aboard, Eevee! I see my more esteemed colleagues have left me no choice but to parrot their sentiments. This is truly a fertile nesting grounds for the whole of things in the Nerd/Geekdom. You'd not find a better group of people elsewhere. Gaaran is so awesome at plugs you'd think he's a plumber (he's not, but he's dangerous if he catches a star, believe you me.) SHIN is a energetic, intelligent young upstart who's keeping some of the best company around, and he's very friendly. Dusk is thoughtful, considerate, and all around made of awesome (and he has a thing for Pie). Arsheesh is most excellent company, and is almost always around to offer a kind word or some sage advice. Myself, well, I'm a ruffian well-practiced in HTML hackery... I break more things than I fix, but such is the life of an inventor! Not much new that hasn't been said by those before, but I couldn't have picked a better group to say them.

THE BEST C-RATE ANIME CAST IN THE ENTIRE INTERWEBZ.

Sorry. I thought that caps lock was cruise control for cool. Obviously, I failed.

    Anyways, Rase is awesome.

Somedays, Dusk, this place feels like a C-rate Anime - I keep waiting for people to show up in Bear-shaped Mechas and start tearing the place up.

Welcome Eevie, sorry I'm a bit late. I'll freely admit that I'm not nearly as helpful as some of the others here (Dusk, Rase, Asheesh, Gaaran, and when you meet Gnunn) but everyone has their own areas of "expertise" so to speak, and mine just happens to be characterization and plot rather than technical stuff like programming and wiki design (though lately it seems like I mainly show up just in time to agree with previous posts in my own way).

On that note, I agree with the above comments that this is a fantastic site, with fantastic people, that sometimes the forums feel like a c-rate anime (or other form of train-wreck, "I can't turn my head away" type catatstophe, except fun), and that it's cool to be reffered to as "esteemed" by one with such esteem as Rase. Too bad I couldn't have gotten here earlier to get under that umbrella. Haha. Hope to see you around the forums.

Oh, don't worry Poutine - thou art covered under the Esteemed Clause of the OP Act of 2010, as thou art helpful, creative, and an all around awesome...aiding...accomplice.. (Okay, so I may have gotten carried away with the a's...I vow to not use any more after this point in this post.)

Indeed, the forums do seem to be like some sort of long vehicle on steel girders which finds itself ruined by forces outside its control, but the resulting explosion is forever enriching. Without those like Poutine, the efforts of those compiling codes or wiki design tumble to the ground, devoid of the filling which gives it support/purpose. Truth, we find ourselves very different in our regions of expertise - I wish I could describe mine to be close to Poutine's, but I do not possess the requisite fortitude in those regions. I find myself the builder of complex codifiers with little purpose, but enjoy the hunt of perfection, but mostly I don the item of clothing which sits upon my brow, concocting loony schemes.

(Wow, that was harder than I thought - any comments? :P)

A C-Rate Anime is it? Hmm... how to cast myself? Comic relief? Recurring villain? "The Exposition":http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Ptitleaddc1oe7?from=Main.MrExposition perhaps?

In any case, welcome aboard Eevee.

Thanks, Rase...nicely put. I too see the co-operative value of the Portal, as fancy code that makes things pretty isn't worth much if the content isn't good, and content itself, while interesting, needs to be seen in a certain way to be fully enjoyed. Sorry I'm not more eloquent at the moment, but I'm stuck, once again, at my institution of higher learning, and brain is wracked to it's fullest extent, and I should probably use what eloquence I currently have in my endeavors that are "worth something" according to my "betters".

ChainsawXIV has to be the "Out of the fire with you, now" character, the one that you rarely see except to save the ridiculous "heroes" from the brink of disaster, only to smile lightly in the background and proudly allow his "charges" to steal glory that should be his. Like Alfred from Batman. Or Nanny from Muppet Babies. Or Nokogiri Kusari Jyu-yon from the hit anime, WOW WOW SHITSUNEN KADOGUCHI HAPPY TEAM GO!!!!!!

Rase, my mecha is shaped like an anthropomorphic slice of pie. I may even draw it, now.

Yes! That is very much the definition of Chainsaw. Whom I shall now call Alfred. Or possibly Nanny Alfred. Or Nanny Alfred Jyu-yon. This is quickly becoming less of a nickname and more of a burden.

Dusk, I insist upon seeing that Mecha. His weapon could be a giant mace with "this":http://www.geekosystem.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/modular-pie-cosahedron-550x423.jpg on the end of it!

Rase, what is that...triangularly produced almond flan of some kind? Looks tasty and I'm not even a fan of almond, but maybe I'm way off on what it is, and isn't even edible?

Rase, I prefer to think of it as a Treatise on the Pie God.

Chainsaw, what do you win? Is it pie?

    I hope it's pie.

Nice. Die shaped pie. Fantastic, though like I said, not a fan of nut-based pie, so mayhaps someone will make me a fruit-based version (not sure how it would stay together, though)

You know, it strikes me that neither pie nor anime were listed amongst Eevee's interests. But hey, what's not to like? Threadjack accomplished!

I think that's my token appearance for this episode. Back to the shop talk threads with me...
