After being spurred to action by the stellar intro videos by "Duskreign":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/wyrmshadow and "Gaaran":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/melekar, I thought I'd try my hand at creating a campaign video.

"Give it a look":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/cthulhusupremusest and let me know what you think, gang.

All the best,

F

Holy crap, Frank. That is amazing. On the "Waiting..." frame, I got goosebumps.

Truly a magnificently emotive video if ever I've seen one. It's really evocative of the mood of Chthulu Supremus Est.

Thank you, sir. I definitely wanted to convey the vibe of the campaign.

I concur with Dusk, very well done, really has that old-timey feel, and i have to agree, the waiting... scene got my heart going just a bit :)

Luvvv it! Its exactly what I would have envisioned for a _Chthulu Supremus Est_ campaign video: a subtly dark, silver-screen-celluloid glimpse into the world of Lovecraft. Nicely done!

    Cheers,

Arsheesh, you were right. Frank really does get his Lovecraft right.

    This looks fantastic!

What did you edit the movie in? Er, not that I'm looking to muscle in on your territory or anything :whistles:

    Jacob,

The last time I checked in with him, Frank said he was looking into getting Windows Live Essentials 2011, which has an updated version of the Windows Movie Maker (which is what I made my video with, fyi).

Thanks, Duskreign! I've got Live Essentials on the way as we speak.

I need to get cracking on this. Your video and now Frank's have set a pretty high bar.

    Bah. Frank's, maybe.

You should see Gaaran's video, too! 'Tis brilliant!

Aw, heck. Here's a link to it:

Yes, Dusk, it was Movie Maker. My past experience with it on previous versions of Widows was a bit glitchy, but it performs quite well on Windows 7.

You can actually download it for free, which is nice. I would highly suggest doing a custom install, so you don't have to deal with the other programs included with Live Essentials 2011.

Don't sell yourself short, Dusk. Your movie is pretty sweet. Gaaran's is awesome, too.

BTW, thanks for the kind words, jacobkosh.

Dusk, I think my previous experience with Movie Maker was in ME (Millennium Edition), which I believe is WIDELY regarded as the worst carnation of Windows EVER (and I am including Vista). The program froze every time I tried to add new video to a project.
