Map gets shrunk down

I uploaded a map to my campaign today ("Tales of the Black Forest"). I tweaked it all just so, so that a 2000px square JPEG still came in at 451KB. It has a lot of detail still, so I figured that would make zooming in and out or navigating around with the Google Maps stuff pretty useful. But when I upload it, it gets shrunk down to apparently just a fraction of its size. At this size, you can't read most of the names (I use the same typeface as David Petersen did for the map of his Mouse Territories in the comics, and while it helps maintain the feel, it doesn't do much for legibility, especially when shrunk down like this). Since I meet the file size requirements, why does my map get shrunk down? Is there any way to keep my map at the size I uploaded?
