Textile doesn't support ")" in links

So I want to create a link to the following page in Wikipedia:

bq. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/23_(number)

So, using Textile syntax I put in the following:

"Number 23":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/23_(number)

Unfortunately, here's what I actually get:

"Number 23":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/23_(number)

Notice that the right parentheses is _not_ included in the link, even though it should be.
