Improved search/filter functionality for Campaigns, Characters, and Items

The current search functionality appears to be global. I have two issues with that:
1) It's not always obvious way up in the top-right corner of the screen.
2) What if I just want to find a character, or maybe an Melee item in a specific game system? I'd really like the ability to filter results within Campaigns, Characters and Items by game system, category (for items), status (for campaigns), and maybe restrict search results to a specific area.
