Is there a way to link text in my wiki to PC and NPC pages. The normal technique of putting double square brackets around the text doesn't seem to work.

You have to use the full URL. For example, say you want to create a link to a Wiki page in the bio section of an NPC on a particular word. Do it this way (omitting the spaces):

    " word " : http : / / the URL here

In fact, if you "reply" to this post, you will see an example to the left of the text box under "formatting help" as (without spaces again) " IBM" : http : / / www . ibm . com

Are you trying to make a link in the wiki, or in the character page? If you are trying to put a link to a character in the wiki page text, you need to include a colon, but it otherwise works the same as linking to a wiki page. For instance, if you were linking to your character page for Bilbo Baggins you would type in (without spaces)

    [ [ : Bilbo Baggins ] ]

I'm using the character link on my wiki log entry here:
    http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/redeclipse/adventure-log/what-already-happened

The 2nd and 3rd paragraph show my problem. The 2nd paragraph is with a space between the first and last name. The 3rd paragraph is with no space. Neither works.

There's also a bunch of single name NPCs on the page and the the : before the name doesn't appear to work.

    Dustin_00 -

In creating your NPCs, have you filled in the field for a "URL-friendly name" field? If not, then using the NPCs names to try to create the link won't work. The system automatically assigns a numeric value to each character when it is created; this is the default text required for creating a link if you haven't filled in the "URL-friendly name field."

Take, for example, your NPC Bogtog. From looking at his NPC entry, it seems that he still has the default numeric value. To create a link to him in your Wiki, you would need to type in the double brackets-colon-numericvalue-double brackets as follows (without the spaces I include):

    [ [ : 36653 ] ]

Typing in his name - Bogtog - won't work.

Compare that with an NPC from my campaign, "The Weight of Rubies.":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/rubies In creating "Arkus,":http://www.obsidianportal.com/character/arkus I filled in the "URL-friendly name" field with "arkus." Now, when I want to create a link to him in my Adventure Log or a Wiki page, I can type in (without spaces):

    [ [ : arkus ] ]

to create the link. (If I wanted the link to appear on some other text - for example, a reference to the fact that he is another NPC's father), then I would add "| additional text" after his name and before the closing brackets, as follows (again without spaces):

    [ [ : arkus | Maeva's father ] ]

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks! That does it.

The text under the "URL-friendly name" should be something more like:

    "FriendlyName"

This is how you link wiki entries to this character, by putting this field in your wiki entry surrounded by [ [ : FriendlyName ] ] in your posts.

Note the name must be unique, start with a letter, and can contain only letters, numbers, and dashes.
