Upload Character Image--Is there a size limit

Is there a size limit to character profile images? If so, what is the limit, and where did you find this information?

Does the upload have to be a jpg? Can I upload a bmp?

I have yet to upload anything that has been rejected. Personally, I take the lack of answer to mean that nobody has yet found the limits. If you want to try and break things, be my guest, I guess, since I know whom to curse under my breath after it's broken. =)

I guess there is a limit around 1 mb, cause when I made a smaller version it worked well :)
