Change Profile Name

I almost hate to ask this, as it seems like something that might have already been discussed. But after searching through the topics, I couldn't find anything, so here goes.

Is there a way to change my profile name? When I joined recently, I wasn't sure how this whole thing was set up... if you had a public name in addition to a sign-in name, if it was editable afterwards, and so forth. So I just put my first initial and last name. I'd like to change it to something a little more interesting. Is this possible?
