Item ownership

I know that "Items" are pretty far down on the list as far as being reworked, but there is one that would be nice to see. When you create an item, you cannot assign it to a player. You have to actually go back and EDIT it before you can change it to being owned by someone. It just seems like an odd quark to me. Any way to get that added as an initial option? It would be cool to see what's in store for the supposed overhaul eventually, but even this small change would be really convenient.
