Hullo everyone, my name is Alex, long time RPG player, new to Obsidian Portal. I started rpging because of Rugrats and my dad. There was one episode where one of the kids had a big monster book they were always reading and me, being a morbid child, became fascinated with it. I begged my dad for one of my own. The only monster book he could find was the AD&D 2nd edition Monster Manual. I poured over the pages of that book until my curiosity got the better of me and I had to know about the game the monster manual belonged to.I've been playing D&D (amongst others) on and off ever since.
I joined to archive my campaign Realm of the Six Gods now that a few of my friends have shown interest in playing. Though for the first time in my life I'm having issues finding players. (I always have friends on hand willing to play rpgs but recently life has taken me away from the nerd herd and so idk what to do.)
I look forward to meeting everyone!

Welcome to Obsidian Portal.
Your site ("Realm of the Six Gods":https://terrasia.obsidianportal.com/) looks really cool! I love all the graphics. For something that's still in the planning stages, you've put a lot of work into it!
I've had some luck asking at my local FLGS (Friendly Local Game Store/Shop). A few here in Montreal have bulletin boards where you can post ads. One FLGS also hosts games, and they're always looking for GMs. It's a great neutral ground to meet new potential players. I don't know much about Austin, but does your local FLGS have something similar?
We have a "Classifieds":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/?CategoryID=10 section here at OP, and the post "[Sticky] How to Find a Game / How to find Players for Your Game":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=1527&page=1 has way more advice than what I could offer.
Hope to hear from you soon!

I'm in Texas, too--up in Denton.
I think you'll enjoy Obsidian Portal. It has its quirks (especially right now), but is still a really useful tool for recording your campaign.
Good luck on finding new players. Ketherian has given you some great advice on finding some through here and your local FLGS.
Anyways, welcome and "Howdy" from a fellow Texan.

Current Campaigns:
Shadows of the Rift : Homebrew Pathfinder Campaign (Campaign of the Month, September 2018)
The Dresden Files: Portland
Deadlands: Riders on the Storm
Velvet & Steel : 7th Sea 2nd Edition
And thanks for the compliment Ketherian. To be honest this campaign was started a while ago for a previous group I was GMing for, but we fell apart right before starting it, so I've had awhile to brew on it.
And I'll definitely check out the links you posted. I feel that Magic the Gathering has an iron grip on the in store play market here in austin, the only two FLGS that I know of that have D&D/RPG nights are on the other side of the city from me. But I'll see if the closer ones have bulletin boards for sure.
And Thank you Pencilneckgeek, I'm actually surprised by how many texans have games running! (and I've seen the quirks and drama while I was lurking before making my account, but I hope if I use the system just for storage and updates I won't come across too many issues)

Texan here as well (in Denton as well actually). Welcome to the community!
Campaign is looking good - I did come across a broken image on the Pantheon page (just FYI :) )
And yeah, there's actually a number of pages that are just place holders, with random links and blurbs until I can get around to finishing them. But maybe I should make them GM only so no one has to look upon their hideousness. haha
Glad to welcome another new member to the portal.
I agree with the look of the site and can also confirm the broken image on the Pantheon page.
The suggestions for finding players are good.
Although I live in Scotland, I have also been in the position of having to find new players and was twice successful using a MEETUP site.
Obsidian Portal is a great campaign tool.
It is true there are mega issues at the moment (tech and communication) and yet I still find it extremely useful (although somewhat frustrating).
I still do live in hope that eventually the issues will be resolved.
You are right about the Community being great. It is true that we have probably lost some good members due to recent issues, but there is also a general tendency for people to leave of their own accord, following the laws of entropy.
Hope to see you around on the forums as we move forward.

I'll try Meetup as well. I hope to be active on the forums, it's always nice to meet people with the same passions.
