This would be identical to the NPC tracker page for ease of adding locations (States, cities, parts in a city, etc), and quick reference in the Wiki (on the right hand side of the page); just like the NPC Tracker page.

I realize that this can be done in the Wiki, but so can NPCs. I feel that all the same reasons a page for NPC Tracker was created would apply to a Location Tracker.

You caught me at a good time...

There are a couple ways to do this. One way is to create a tag for all of your places. For example, create the tag _place_ and add that to all your wiki pages for locations. Then you can sort on the _place_ tag for all your places. This is exactly what I do for my campaign: "http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/kensing/wiki/list-pages/campaign-web/Place":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/kensing/wiki/list-pages/campaign-web/Place

And...if you want to take it a step further...*add a map!* I just added the ability to place markers on the maps for specific places. So, create the wiki pages as I suggested, then go to your map and add the markers on the map for each wiki page you've created. Take a look here: "http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/kensing/maps/show/393":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/kensing/maps/show/393

It's a little rough at this point, but the functionality is there!

Fantastic. Thank you for the suggestion and that will work perfectly. I am running my campaign in a city and intend to detail everything in it.

As long as I can have GM notes on the wiki pages I will be set! Time to give it a try and see what happens.

Sweet Astral Plane Micah! That is one of the coolest features I've seen yet -- they just keep getting better!

Oh this is a stretch but I thought I'd toss it out there anyway: Is there any way to post a mini-frozen section of the map on a wiki page? I have no idea what the plausibility of this is from a programming point of view, but like let's say you make a tag called Redstar's Home, and then you place Redstar's Home on the map. If you did something like [[Redstars_Game::Redstar's Home]] it would create a 200px x 200px still map, centered on the tag Redstar's Home from the real map.

Does that make sense? In any case, this is AMAZING, and you just won my subscription.

We're looking at something for displaying a portion of the map on the wiki page. A first cut would probably be something like a sidebar that shows a small portion of the map, centered on the marker for that particular wiki page.

The wiki link syntax is an interesting idea, though. I'll have to think about that...

This is too cool! I added some markers for all the locations the PCs have adventured in my campaign. LOVE IT!

    The map markers are AWESOME!
Look at what I can do with those, combined with the powerful GIMP!
