Reforged status of Maps and Raw Domains

I was not able to find any information on either of these Reforged elements, including on the most recent Blog post so I wanted to ask...

Any updates on these two features?
* Stretch Goal 1: Reworking the Maps
* Stretch Goal 4: Custom Campaign URLs (in particular Ascendant campaigns able to set up their own raw domain)

As far as maps go, the only thing that I think hasn't been accomplished, is the addition of numerous marker types. They currently only have the simple markers and a "monuments" set. Zoom levels and larger sizes seem to have been implemented.

Can't speak to raw domains, though subdomains are working. Raw domains are likely to be much harder to accomplish. Seems like that would either involve users registering their own domains and then pointing them at OP, or else Ascendant membership is going to get much more expensive to cover domain registration.

I can't speak for anyone else but my maps display is overall much smaller especially my master campaign map. I have spent hours researching how to make it bigger but can't get anything to work. The map markers now eat up huge amounts of the map and overlap to the point where it is very difficult to click to get the links to their respective adventure logs to come up.

It work fine for me... The size of your map must be 4096x4096px to work properly.

I don't see a way to edit the map size so I guess I get to recreate it and redo each marker and relink all 86 adventure logs...

Maps have been upgrade? Where is this notification/announcement?

And Pils, thanks for the size info...is that because of the "upgraded" maps, or was it always the case?

I also found the new map markers to be quite large. I like the OP Logo but the previous PINS covered up less map space. No big issues at the moment though. I look forward to more MAP PIN options in the near future.

@SkidAce: I think maps have been upgraded with the reforge, and when you create a new one, you have this message:

"Max Size: 5 MB (If your file is too big, try resizing down to 4096x4096 pixels or smaller)
Your map must be a square image prior to upload. Otherwise, it will appear warped and streched."

I recreate my maps at the larger size now, but I can't add markers (nothing happen when I hit the save button...) AARGH!

@Leonidas- Feel your pain- doing the same. At least I did not link any logs or pages to it, but each marker I have to redo, and there are at least 50. May cut some.

Good to hear that the map improvement went live. Wish it would have been better communicated though since you have to reupload to see the change.

As for the raw domains, I have the domain name registered, just need OP to give me a way to hook it up.

@ killervp, I don't think you'll cut anything though you are a perfectionist like me, whenever you looked at it you'd always see what was not there and that would bother you too much. It would have been nice to know about the size issue though, so instead of spending 4 hours with my di*k in my hand trying to figure out how to make what I have work; I could have spent the time redoing what worked fine for 2 over two years.

I suppose this is also why most of my smaller map's displays are gorked up to the point where they are pretty much useless.

Before I RE-DO EVERYTHING to fix this debacle, is there anything else that was not communicated that I should be aware of?

I guess if we want to know what is going on with the Portal; God is just going to have to miracle the knowledge to us.

I would hold off on a new map- they are still supposed to add new markers, and that may break the whole thing again.

I've never really liked the constraints of the maps page. So I just made my own. It doesn't link from the maps button, but I am sure folks can find it on my site.
