Hello everyone!

edited June 2013 in Player Lounge
Hi there!

I've been using this great portal for six months now, but only as a player. Now I'm planning to start a new Dresden Files RPG (FATE) campaign (http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/vancouverfiles/wikis/home-page , don't be alarmed, it's not a demon invocation, just Russian) with Vancouver, BC, Canada, as a setting. However my knowledge of Vancouver relies on wikipedia and tv shows, so if anyone here is lucky enough to live in this city I would appreciate an opportunity to interrogate you. :) If you're up for it, contact me via e-mail 'leeder87 AT gmail DOT com' or via e-mail in my profile.

A few words about me. I'm a programmer, age 25, based in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Married, my wife and I have a daughter. My tabletop RPG experience counts 12 years (mostly D&D 3.5, Old WoD and Legend of the Five Rings 3ER, but I like to explore all sorts of games), and I have participated in the organization of Rolecon (the first Russian TRPG convention) and worked with Studio 101 (Russian game publisher). More on that here: http://www.jennisodes.com/podcasts/russian-pnp

If you're up for a casual chat, feel free contact me too - I welcome a chance to practice my English. :)

    Welcome Leeder!

Pfft! Practice your English?!?!?!? I'd say after reading that post you've pretty much mastered it.

LOTS of great Dresden Files campaigns here, which I'm sure you are already aware of if you've been here for 6 months.

    Nice to meet ya!

Thank you, NinjaFlashX. :) You know, there is huge difference between a carefully polished message and a real-time communication...

Yeah, I have already acquainted with some of DFRPG games here. And even have found a bunch of Vancouver-based (primarily WoD) chronicles. Nice reading! ;)

    Welcome Leeder.

As NinjaFlashX said, there are several REALLY good Dresden Files Campaigns present here, the best one being Wolfhound's "Dresden Files Dallas":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/dfd, followed closely by Humanoyd's "The Emerald City":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/the-emerald-city as well as eiredrake's "Troubled Waters":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/troubled_waters.

I will also blatantly plug my own Dresden Campaign, "Shadows Over New York":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/shadows-over-new-york, which I am rather proud of myself.

As for Vancouver, well, can;t help you much there, but, if there is anything I can do to help, just drop me a message

Thank you, Keryth. These games are awesome, and I certainly will examine them in vain attempts to incorporate their greatest ideas in my own game. And thanks for your tenderness.
Twiggyleaf, I'm glad to meet you too. I see that obsidian Portal is under reconstruction. That's great, I hope I will keep my intention for using this site for whole period of play.

Some of us speak Russian (if badly in my case). I have also book marked your campaign.

Я говарю немного по Русски, много забывала.

    Something FUN to practice on!

Hi Leeder! Welcome to the Portal! I suggest incorporating a translate button into your campaign- the code is simple and I will happily share. Pils has done this with his great "Dark Sun Campaign":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/dark-sun-a-trova and I have a translate link on mine as well. Google translate is far from perfect, but it works pretty well.
Any questions just send me a message.

StoryMaster, it's good to know || рад это слышать. I have sent you a message || Я послал тебе сообщение.

killervp, thanks for the greetings and the good advice. Do I need to be an Ascendant member for integration this button in my campaign page? Anyway, I will be grateful for your help in this case. It is not that there is something valuable in my game, but for Kettle's sake. :) PM me please.

No, you do not need to be Ascendent.
The link is in my Site Appearance section, under buttons "here":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/a-god-rebuilt/wikis/side-buttons-code
Feel free to PM me if there are any issues.

Killervp, I've made a link for google-translated version of my campaigne: http://translate.google.ru/translate?sl=ru&tl=en&prev=_t&hl=ru&ie=UTF-8&u=http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/vancouverfiles&act=url I didn't get how to create a button yet. Thank you for the guidelines!

    RedStorm2013, thanks!
