Ha, yeah, Ker, flying would be cheaper than driving at that point :P If i didn't already have plans Killer (and it wasn't such short notice :P), I'd consider driving out there from SF.

Well we made it back alive from Vegas! Some of us had a bit more excitement than we bargained for, some just chilled by the pool, but game night was Amazing!
The group destroyed a good portion of the jungle, and made it to the Baalgor Mountains. Giants were slain, a Cockatrice was killed, and 2 players and 1 guide were killed (thank goodness for resurrection....) Logs are up- here is the link to the "official log":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/a-god-rebuilt/adventure-log/highway-to-hades

We hope to do it again next year!

Viva Las Vegas! What a great night you must have had. Did you all stay in a hotel? And where did you actually play? In the hotel room? Or did you hire a small conference room? I would be interested to learn something of the Out of Character experience.

After 53 sessions, we passed a milestone- over 250 logs! Mostly by the players themselves, so I had the players vote on their favorite. By a close margin, Roggan's log about turning himself into an iron golem won.
Here is the log "Hardened Heart and Resolve":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/a-god-rebuilt/adventure-log/hardened-heart-and-resolve

I am still jealous of how active your players are in your OP site. For me, I'm lucky to get one from each person after each EPISODE, much less, each session. And I had to bribe them all to do it.

    As always, congrats KillerVP.

Thank you all, so very much, for this honor and for all your support.
Shadows would not be what it is without my awesome players, nor without the support of the awesome community here on OP.

Don't worry Keryth987, you are doing fine.

I've got one guy that never answers email and in fact I had to create his character as well.

Victor's whole crew are all really involved in their whole game and he is the envy of the community.

I am lucky my guys generally will chip in to do portal work but Killervp's guys do set the gold standard.

Twiggs - I invite you to use the "Motivational Bio":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/metzger/characters/gorruk I came up with for a player who was being difficult about that requirement. I have not had a player fail to create a bio for his character in almost 8 months. (word of warning - this bio is extremely distasteful those easily offended should never read it).

needless to say the other players piled on in character to give poor Gorruck a hard time of it

player is still in the group and we have a good laugh about it from time to time

    Thanks Leo300

Believe me, I have tried everything. And there are other issues that I do not mention here. I will operate under the premise that it is better to game (even if not 100% to GM expectation) than not to game. We are all GMs in our group and the last thing I want to do is create another rift.

I was really just trying to comfort Keryth987.

(btw: I have heard they are making some sort of sequel to the film 300 - have you heard much about that?)

Gotta be honest Leonidas, but, as a player, doing a bio like that one for one of my characters would be a sure way for me to leave the game. I certainly would not run with it as a player.

Twiggy- Called "Rise of the Empire":http://www.300themovie.com/index.html

Leonidas- One of my players wants to use that as his next character!! Of course, he is the twisted gnome Tyvernos now... so it was not an unexpected comment.

Keryth- I started them on it as part of the game- it is why when I get a new player in we tend to run through a few of them before finding someone who is willing to put in the effort.

RedStorm- You would never have to worry about getting a bio done for you, as you are an active, engaged person!

FYI- Having to upgrade my internet connection, so will be very spotty for the next 2 weeks here- you all have fun!!

Twiggs - That is a tough spot to be in. Hard to say what the best answer would be... I think at times every DM has fought the expectation vs reality battle speaking for myself I let my group know what I'd like things to be (without requirement) but also where the hard lines are drawn. There are plenty of area's that a DM can be lenient and in truth the more lenient you are in certain areas allows for you to be less lenient in your "must have" areas.

Yes, I have heard of the sequel (Rise of the Empire) was worried when the "prequel rumors were floating around but now that it is a confirmed sequel, it is looking like it will be pretty good. Probably won't be as good as the original but I'll take a close second - Let's all pray that Sam Worthington is not allowed within a thousand miles of the set as everything he is a part of turns into a giant, steaming pile of $#*&.

Killervp - of course your player can use that bio (tis a bit distrubing as I went way over the top on it) but it is the least I could do in partial repayment of what I have learned from your page.

RedStorm - I respect the honesty so I will return it in kind. I was aware when I wrote the bio for the player that there was a chance he might leave over it and frankly, I was willing to accept that possible outcome. Every group has a command structure be it formal or informal. In my group up to date character sheets and a character bio are required of all group members, after I had exhausted less heavy-handed techniques I went to the "inspirational bio". I pride myself on running an extremely fair and superbly documented game. In my system everyone is held to the same standard because if the standard does not apply for one person it cannot apply to the others. It would be unfair and unrealistic to hold some members to a standard and not others. In truth I would make the same decision again in the future if I felt it was warranted.

For our game, two players participate enough, one gives more than I ask and two aren't good at all. We are getting a new player soon, so hopefully he might restore the balance. However, all turn up to play...which is the main thing.

Thanks for the trailer, Killer. It looks SAVAGE! (in a good way)

Leo300- Actually, he has a backup character (people have learned that death is real in my game) that is already pretty crazy- perhaps not Gnome riding St Bernard crazy (his current) but still pretty wild. Read the bio- it is worth it. I give you "Runeslinger":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/a-god-rebuilt/characters/runeslinger and his Treatise on the Merits and Flaws of Mystic Abortion. Adult themes...

So, our recent search for a replacement player has exhausted our waiting list! So, as the good former Boy Scout I am, I am trying to be prepared! Please send me a pm if you want to be on the waiting list for A God...Rebuilt! Just had to go to the last in line, so the list is now empty, and, as in all long running games, real life happens, I have no clue how soon I may need a new player- may be this August, or August 2015.
You must be willing to actively (and I truly mean actively!) participate in a bi-weekly game over Skype, write a lot of logs, and be ok with adult themes...
    Thanks!

Had to share- Lost a bet (long story) to one of my favorite Palladium books freelance artists, Mike Mumah. Never been so happy to lose a bet, because I had to pay him for a commission of one of the PC's in my game. Here is a Mumah take on "Overkill":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/a-god-rebuilt/wikis/overkill-by-mumah
