Mac + Heroforge

I know that Heroforge uses Microsoft Excel & Visual Basic. This does not work correctly in Open Office's Calc. Does anyone know of a free downloadable file to create a character using Open Office's Calc? I know a little bit of the C programming language, but have never used macros. Please Help.
