anyone else bummed that Dan's segment "Obsidian Portal wants to know..." on facebook had fallen by the wayside?

I may not start off my questions with that prefix but I'm still *wanting to know* a lot of things about you guys. We'll also have a new weekly feature coming up very soon that I think you'll all have quite a lot of fun with.

awesome. im looking forward to it. I actually started a page called Trapdoor as a kind of replacement/tribute to the daily question Dan used to ask. one question a day along with discussions and what not. hasn't taken off yet though.

Underneath the Enter your comments box, there is an option of whether to Format comments as Text or Textile. Make sure you tick Textile, otherwise your links won't be formatted correctly.

Otherwise, that was the right way to do it. Imma check out Trapdoor right NOW!

Dude, tell me about it. I am so freaking overwhelmed right now.

But next week? Next week is MY WEEK!

Seriously, next week, I can definitely play DQotW, because I have no school!

Excellent, sir! You'll have to let me know when I should carve out huge swaths of time to accomodate you, sirrah.

Possibly by then I can re-do more bodywork on my bloody Mini... I swear, that thing is like driving a paper airplane. Sure, it's awesome, fast, flies, and is super sleek, but it crumples like paper. :((((

Buying the materials to try my hand at mini painting... that's one of my mid-term goals. I keep three goal lists at all time, a short- mid- and long-term list. The short term list is almost entirely Obsidian Portal and RPG based, sadly. The mid-term one has mini-painting within the next year, and the long-term one has me buying a Microsoft Surface table in the next 5 years.

But you're talking about the car, aren't you? I'm not. I'm talking about a tiny representation of a fictional character. That's way higher on Duskreign's Hierarchy of Nerds.

Duskreign, I demand an illustration of Duskreign's Hierarchy of Nerds. It'll be way better than Maslow.

I think the idea of goal-lists is amazing. I happen to be goallist (goal-less, phonetically? with a lisp?) I wish I had the patience to paint minis...

Dusk: I too periodically paint little people -some of them dwarves, in fact! Bit of cost-saving advice, buy your primer from a hardware store or Wal/K/Target-Mart. Any matte spray primer designed for acrylic paint will work, and a can that costs $15 at a game shop can be picked up for $3 or $4 elsewhere.

Heirarchy of Nerds? Would the top of that list represent the nerdiest, or would it be a nerd who has attained a Buddhist-like middle-path of geekitude? I envision a sort of axis with "humorless, jock d-bags" on one end and "LARPing Furries who insist on only being called by their cat name" on the other. For me the ideal nerd falls somewhere in between, being possessed of a balance of nerd forces... like a Jedi.

The prerogative to put far more effort than is warranted into certain tasks, while remaining utterly oblivious to other, far more important tasks, is one of the first-tier needs on my hierarchy. So, no. I don't think I'll be illustrating this.

    :P

Just think Maslow's hierarchy, but with the words "for nerds" hastily scrawled next to every level of need inside parentheses.

    Thanks for the tip, G-none!

Dusk, if you only ignore important tasks, wouldn't this illustration of frivolity be right up there on the to do list?

I think you are missing the...

A task like that IS important (for nerds).
